Assam Rifles apprehend one

Kohima, February 11 (MExN): The Kohima battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) reportedly apprehended one GPRN/NSCN cadre on February 9 at Themazie colony. A press release from HQ IGAR (North) has identified the accused as Neingumelie (34) alias Amelie, Raja Peyu. Four extortion slips of GPRN/NSCN were recovered from the accused, who was handed over to North Police Station, Kohima, the release said.  

NVC on road blockade incident

Kohima, February 11 (MExN): With regard to the blockade of National Highway – 2 at Nerhema village jurisdiction on February 7 by “some miscreants of neighbouring villages,” Nerhema Village Council (NVC) has informed that the people involved in the incident were summoned along with their parents and village leaders to the Nerhema Village Council Hall on February 9. “The members involved in the incident have tendered apology before the village authority for their unbecoming act and which was accepted unconditionally as per the customary practices of the Nagas,” stated a press release from the NVC. “Whereas it has been agreed to the effect that anyone who repeats in future of such act the Nerhema Village Council will take severest action against them. And in view of this settlement the matter attain its finality,” the release added.  

One apprehended with arms

Kiphire, February 11 (MExN): Kiphire battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) apprehended one person with pistol and live rounds in Pungro on February 10. A press release from Lt Col Angshuman Chakrabarti, officiating PRO, HQ IGAR (N) has identified the apprehended person as Cholimong Sangtam (45). The recovered items included one .32 mm pistol with 10 rounds of live ammunition. The apprehended person along with the recovery was handed over to Kiphire Police Station, the release added.  

BJP 5 Ghaspani-II A/C meeting

Dimapur, February 11 (MExN): All frontal office bearers and booth committees’ meeting cum picnic of BJP 5 Ghaspani-II A/C will be held at 10:00 am on February 13 at Kukidolong village, opposite GREF Camp. A press release informed that BJP candidate Tokuho Suhoi Neho will deliver his view for the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) election. Therefore, all concerned have been requested to attend the programme without fail.
