JDU appoints vice presidents
Dimapur, January 2 (MExN): The Janata Dal United Nagaland State has appointed Z. Ato and Nuklo Phom as vice-Presidents of JDU Nagaland State unit with immediate effect i.e., December 30, 2015. Further, they are hereby directed to discharges their duties in consultation with the undersigned, a press release from the JDU North-East Incharge Arun Kumar Sirvastava and General Secretary (Administration) Lakiu Kips informed.
Joint Areas Students Union organises music fest
Kiphire, January 2 (MExN): The Joint Area Students’ Union of Kiphire organised a music fest under the theme “celebrating diversity through music” with Thridongse President NPF Kiphire Unit as special guest. Thridongse while expressing gratitude to the students union for organising such event encouraged them to take up their jobs with sincerity and integrity. He asked the gathering and the music lovers to use music as a tool to reach out to other communities and build bridges. Altogether 5 bands from Kiphire and various solo artists and dancers participated in the event. Thousands of music lovers witness the fest.
YUD 36th general session held
Dimapur, January 2 (MExN): Yimchungru Union Dimapur (YUD) held its 36th general session on December 29, 2015 at its Union Treasury with Z. Akiu, General Secretary, YUD as chairperson. The opening prayer was pronounced by Shojila, YBCD Women Department secretary and welcome address by Nathanial, Treasury YUD. A cultural song was presented by Yanthrongba and group. An exhortation was delivered by Toshi, Supdt of Taxes Mon, Andrew Phunungkiu, Asst General Manager Tuensang and Issac Litsase, AEO, Dimapur, followed by vote of thanks by S. Keoshu, President YUD and Benediction by Asangba, Youth Pastor YBCD. The 2nd general session was chaired by S. Mukam (Kamba) YUD Executive Chairman and Kiuseme YUD Executive Secretary. St Francis Xavier’s celebrates New Year
Kidima, January 2 (MExN): St Francis Xavier’s Church Kidima, Diocese of Kohima celebrated New Year 2016 cum Mary Solemnity Mother of God with Reverend Father Raymond D’ Souza SJ, Director of Eden Garden, Khuzama as the Main Celebrant at its Church premises. Eucharist celebration, special prayer for the new Church building construction, honour of Mother Mary, Rosary prayer etc. were the highlights of the daylong New Year celebrations, a press release received here informed.
