No change of book contents: DoSE Kohima, January 15 (MExN): The Directorate of School Education today informed all the District Education Officers and Sub Divisional Education Officers that before the arrival of new text books the text books supplied last year can be used in order to start the regular classes in time, “as there will be no change of book contents for the current session too.” In this connection, school education director Senthang informed all the concerned officers to accordingly inform the schools under their respective jurisdiction.     Final electoral roll for Tening, Peren A/C published Peren, Janaury 15 (MExN): The Additional Deputy Commissioner & Electoral Registration Officer, Peren, has notified that the list of amendments to the draft electoral roll for the 6-Tening and 7-Peren Assembly Constituencies has been prepared with reference to January 1, 2016, as the qualifying date and in accordance with the Registration of Electors Rules, 1960. A copy of the said roll together with the said list of amendments has been published and will be available for inspection at the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner, Peren, and at concerned Booth Level Officer of respective polling station/areas.  

  One arrested for selling pre-activated SIM Dimapur, January 15 (MExN): Dimapur Police on January 12 arrested one person identified as Tovi Sema from New Market area for selling Pre- activated SIM Cards of various service providers. In this regard, the Dimapur Police PRO in a press release reminded that the sale of pre-activated SIM Cards is illegal and is liable for prosecution under the law. Further, the PRO also appealed to citizens to refrain from buying such SIM Cards and report of such activities taking place within the vicinity.     Kuki Inpi extends Mim Kut greetings Dimapur, January 15 (MExN): The Kuki Inpi Nagaland (KIN) has extended warm greetings to the Kuki people of Nagaland on the auspicious day of Mim Kut, which is being celebrated by the Kuki Community on January 17. KIN in its greetings wished all a happy Mim Kut and stated, “May the celebration of this Post Harvest festival bring blessings to the people throughout the year.”     NFCSFSA condoles Dimapur, January 15 (MExN): The Nagaland Food & Civil Supplies Field Staff Association has expressed condolences at the untimely demise of its active member, late Lalkholen Doungel, who was serving as Inspector of Food & Civil Supplies and posted in Peren District. “We are saddened to hear of his demise and our thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family during the tragic time. May his soul rest in peace,” the condolence message from the association stated.     Kohima Municipal Council directs Kohima, January 15 (MExN): In view of the forthcoming Republic Day celebration on January 26, the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) today directed all the 19 wards, shopkeepers, institutions, establishment agencies and public within Kohima municipality to clean and paint/white wash the front side of the building and shops facing the road side on or before January 20 to facelift the capital city of Nagaland. The KMC also directed all shops/business establishments to hoist National Flag on top of their shops and buildings from 6 a.m. on January 26 in honour of Republic Day.
