JD (U) withdraw two candidates
DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 13 (MExN): Janata Dal (U) Nagaland announced on Tuesday that it has withdrawn two of its candidates, namely SK Sangtam from 52nd Longkhim A/C and IG Mongba from 54th Tuensang Sadar-2 A/C. JD (U) president Senchumo Lotha in a press release said the two candidates were asked to withdraw in the “larger interest of the party as well as for other strategic reasons.” “Their candidatures stand rescinded but they shall continue to work for the benefit of the party, wherever called upon, and shall continue to adhere to the party guidelines in all their future endeavor,” the press release added.
DC Mon cautions
Mon, February 13 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner of Mon, K. Thavaseelan, IAS, has in a notification cautioned candidates/students regarding placement/jobs obtained through unregistered/unrecognised maritime/sea-fare training institutes. Stating that a number of cases of such instances have come to light in the recent past, the DC said such placement should only happen through Recruitment and Placement Service (RPS) entities recognized by/registered with the Office of the Director General of Shipping (DGS). If not, there is no recourse if untoward incident happen, warned the DC.
KMC asks to renew trade license
Kohima, February 13 (MExN): Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all the business establishments/institutions within the KMC jurisdiction to renew their trade license on or before March 31, 2018. “All are informed to abide by this direction, failing which, late fine with penalty will be imposed after the expiry date,” added KMC Administrator, Kethosituo Sekhose in a press release.
Mon DPDB meeting on Feb16
Mon, February 13 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Mon, K. Thavaseelan, IAS, has notified that the monthly meeting of Mon District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) for February will be held on February 16, 11:00 am at the DC’s conference hall here. All members have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.
AR apprehend NSCN (R) cadre
Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): Dimapur Battalion of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (North) apprehended one NSCN (R) cadre with arms and ammunition on February 12 in Naharbari, a press release from Assam Rifles informed. The cadre identified as Isaka Awomi (41) along with the recoveries was handed over to East Police Station, Dimapur, it said. The recoveries included AK-56 rifle with magazines, two .22 mm pistol with magazines and 50 and four live rounds of AK-56 and .22 pistol respectively, extortion slips - 25 of NNC, 28 of FGN, 29 of NSCN (R) - and two extortion collection pads, it added.

Pre-recruitment training for army in Mon
Mon, February 13 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner of Mon, K. Thavaseelan, IAS, has informed all concerned that there will be a pre-recruitment training in Mon district for the Army Recruitment Rally scheduled from April 9 to 15, 2018 in Tuensang for candidates hailing from Nagaland. As per information received from Headquarter 7 Sector Assam Rifles, 35 Assam Rifles located in Mon, 4 Kumaon Regiment located in Tizit, and 40 Assam Rifles located in Tuensang whose companies have been deployed at Chenloisho, Wangti, Chaklansho, Jakphang and Tobu of Mon district will undertake pre recruit training to prepare the local youth for the final test.
