DC Dimapur convenes joint meeting Dimapur, February 4 (MExN): The Deputy Commissioner of Dimapur has convened a joint meeting for discussing survey works for construction of New BG Railway Line from 18.30 Km-48.KM at the office of ADC Medziphema on February 11, at 11 AM. In this connection, DC Dimapur Kesonyu Yhome IAS has requested all the Head GBs, Village Council Chairman and Members and landowners of Molvom, Moava, Sochonouma and Sirhima villages along with departmental officials to attend the meeting positively.  

  Online applications invited for NERIST entrance exam Kohima, February 4 (MExN): The Directorate of Technical Education today informed that online applications are invited for NERIST Entrance Examination (NEE) 2016 to be conducted by the North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST) Nirjuli, Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh for Base Module (Certificate course), Diploma Module & Degree Module courses in technology streams and also Degree Module course in forestry. Schedule for online submission of application forms is from 11-01-2016 to 07-03-2016. Further details may be accessed at www.neeonline.ac.in     Labour & Employment Department renamed Kohima, February 4 (DIPR): The Government of Nagaland has re-named the Department of Labour and Employment as Department of Labour and Employment, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (L&E, SD&E). The re-named L&E, SD&E will be the Nodal Department in the State of Nagaland, for both the Ministry of Labour and Employment and the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship with immediate effect.     NPF Peren consultative meet Dimapur, February 4 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Peren Division will be holding a consultative meeting with the Chief Minister TR Zeliang and Division In-Charge & Minister of Power, Kipili Sangtam on February 9 at 10AM. A press note from unit president, Haigam Kauring has requested all the division office bearers including frontal organizations, 6 Tening A/C and 7-Peren A/C officebearers, and three representatives from Town or Village units to attend the meeting without failure. No separate circular will issued again, it added.     Vocational training for Ex-servicemen Dimapur, February 4 (MExN): A vocational training in various fields for ex-servicemen is being conducted in relevant government of Nagaland institutes through Directorate of Sainik Welfare and Settlement, Nagaland. A press note from Zila Sainik Welfare Officer, Dimapur Col TNK Singh (Retd) has informed all interested Ex-servicemen from Dimapur, Mon and Peren district to register their names immediately at the Zila Sainik Welfare Office Dimapur.     NLF Parliamentary Working Committee meeting Kohima, February 4 (DIPR): Speaker, NLA, Chotisuh Sazo who is the Chairman of Parliamentary Working Committee of the Nagaland Legislators’ Forum on Naga Political Issue will convene a meeting on February 8 at 1:00 P.M. in the Committee Room of Nagaland Legislative Assembly. Therefore, all the Members of the Parliamentary Working Committee of the Nagaland Legislators Forum on Naga Political Issue are requested to kindly attend the meeting positively.     LFAIDS to hold annual general meet Kohima, February 4 (DIPR): Consultant, LFAIDS, Dr. Vinito L. Chishi has informed that the Annual General Meeting of Legislators' Forum on AIDS will be held on February 8 at 10:00 AM to 12 Noon in the Conference Hall of Assembly Secretariat where the Chief Minister, the Chief Patron of LFA will be the Guest of Honour and the Speaker of NLA, the Convenor and the Patron of LFA will be the Chairman on the occasion.     Peren District Medical Board on Feb 9 Peren, February 4 (MExN): All the Departments in Peren District are informed that that the District Medical Board is scheduled to be held on February 9 from 10:00am in the Office chamber of the Chief Medical Officer Peren. All Departments who have candidate for confirmation of service, commutation of Pension etc, for Grd.III & Grd. IV employees are asked to submit the list latest by 6th of February 2016 addressed to the Chief Medical Officer, Peren for necessary action.     Major fire averted Kiphire, February 4 (MExN): A major fire was averted last evening by the citizens at the Rest House Ward in Kiphire when a gas cylinder burst and burnt one side of the building. The incident occurred at around 6:00 pm. At the time when fire tender with fireman reach the spot the fire was already dozed off by the public. Part of the building and some of the household property were burned. However, there was no report of any casualties.     PNTMK general assembly Kohima, February 4 (MExN): Poumai Naga Tsüdoumai Me Kohima (PNTMK) (students’ Union) has convened its general assembly cum election on February 6, 1:00 pm at Poumai Catholic Church Nagabazar. A press release issued by PNTMK speaker C.T Romeo has requested all the students, executives, advisors, senior students and well wishers to attend the general assembly.     KDCC observes 10 years of MGNREGA Kohima, February 3 (MExN): The Kohima District Congress Committee (KDCC) along with the rest of the nation celebrated the completion of 10 years of MGNREGA with NPCC on February 2. While celebrating the occasion, the KDCC, keeping in mind the guidelines of NGNREGA Act 2005 published in the Gazette India dated 5th September 2005, submitted a representation to Deputy Commissioner, Kohima and Project Director appealing for 100 days wages to be paid to the job card holders. Failing which, the KDCC cautioned to launch lawful protest to protect the welfare and benefit of the people. The KDCC in a press release issued by its General Secretary (Admn) Abalie Medoze further stated that the Committee warned that anyone intentionally defaulting the guidelines shall be brought to book.
