ANSALWC convenes meeting
Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): All Nagaland SARDP-NE Affected Landowners’ Welfare Committee (ANSALWC) has convened an emergency meeting at Circuit House, Dimapur at 10:00 am on February 16. The committee in a press release has requested all members to attend the meeting.
Home department informs on NDAL project
Kohima, February 13 (DIPR): The NDAL Project for digitization of the records of arms licenses and issue of UIN to all the licensees by the licensing authorities has been undertaken for the past one year now. However, due to various reasons, licensing authorities in Nagaland could not complete this exercise by due date. Therefore, in order to enable them to complete this task and to avoid inconvenience to the licensees, the last date has been extended till March 31, 2016 by GOI, Ministry of Home Affairs. All the licensing authorities, i.e., Deputy Commissioners have been requested by the Home Department to inform all the license holders and make efforts to complete the task by March 31, 2016, beyond which, licenses will become invalid.
30th Alongtaki A/C offers condolences
Mokokchung, February 13 (MExN): The people of 30th Alongtaki A/C have conveyed condolences to Parliamentary Secretary Dr. Benjongliba Aier and his family at the demise of his father, JN Aier. A condolence message issued by Lima Jamir, Press Secretary to Dr. Benjongliba said that the deceased was the founder of Japukong Upper Primary School established in 1945, the first school under 30th Alongtaki A/C. He served as the headmaster in the school till April 6, 1956. In the year 1963, he was also the headmaster of Clark Memorial School at Impur. Late JN Aier was also a fatherly figure to Japukong Kaketshir Mungdang (JKM); he was a founding member of JKM, the note added. Stating that in his demise, the people of 30th Alongtaki A /C in particular have lost a great teacher and educationist, the condolence message stated that throughout his life, he lived his life in order to make others’ lives more meaningful.
Special cleanliness drive in govt healthcare facilities
Kohima, February 13 (MExN): As part of Swachh Bharat Mission, Department of Health & Family Welfare, Nagaland is launching a special cleanliness drive in government hospitals in the State from February15 to 28. It includes the district hospitals, Community Health Centre, Primary Health Centre, Mental Hospital, TB Hospital and Nursing Institute, informed a press release from Dr. Thanghoi Lam, Nodal Officer, Quality Assurance, Department of Health & Family Welfare. The release added that the objective of the special cleanliness drive is to promote cleanliness, hygiene, and infection control practices in public healthcare facilities.
TSUD condemns
Dimapur, February 13 (MExN): Tenyimi Students' Union Dimapur (TSUD) has condemned the action of the personnel of Railway Protection Force in assaulting and “maiming” its member Senenlo Kath. In a press statement, TSUD appealed to the law enforcing agencies to leave no stone unturned in booking the culprits and ensuring justice to the victim.
