HoDs in Kiphire district asked to be in station
Kiphire, February 20 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner of Kiphire, A Chumremo Odyuo, has directed all Head of Offices (HoDs) posted in Kiphire district to remain in station in view of the prevailing situation in the district, “which has affected the normal lives of the citizens and wherein the various departments are required to provide various assistance whichever concerns them and also for other normal office work.” In a circular, the DC said that in the event of unavoidable circumstances necessitating leave from station, the concerned officer shall obtain prior approval from him. “Non-compliance of this directive shall be viewed seriously and such misdemeanor immediately reported to the Government,” the circular added.
IGNOU induction programme in Kohima
Kohima, February 20 (MExN): The induction programme for new students enrolled in M.A Education programme under IGNOU Kohima will be held on March 24, 1:00 pm in the State College of Teacher Education (SCTE), Kohima. The study materials will be given after the programme. A press release from Programme In-Charge, SCTE, Kohima informed that the students must attend in person without fail.
NASU supports setting up of IISER in Hovukhu
Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): Niuland Area Students’ Union (NASU) today extended its support to Hovukhu Village Council, Niuland and Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) with regard to setting up of Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) proposed at Hovukhu village. In a press release issued by its President, Mughaka Chophy, NASU appealed to the State government to set up the IISER at the earliest, while reminding that no attempt should be made to shift the institute to other place at any cost. The students’ union further supported the decision of WSSU and said it will extend full co-operation if State government fails to set up the institute.
NBAK informs on new membership
Kohima, February 20 (MExN): The Naga Business Association, Kohima (NBAK) has informed all the genuine Naga businesspersons and entrepreneurs under the jurisdiction of Kohima Town that the submission of new membership form for the period of 2016 has been fixed on March 10. Filled up forms can be submitted to any of the area representatives, executives or the following shops - Essential, opposite Ministers’ Hill Baptist Higher Secondary School, Oriental Trade Agency (Stationary), opposite IDBI Bank, main town and Relic Art, High School Junction. The NBAK has also welcomed any genuine Naga businessperson and entrepreneur under Kohima Town. It said for new enrolment of membership, forms can be collected and submitted from the above mentioned addresses.
NBSE convenes meeting
Kohima, February 20 (DIPR): Chairperson of NBSE, Asano Sekhose has informed that a meeting has been convened on March 15 at 10:30 am at Ura Academy Hall, Kohima with the heads of institutions (both Government & Private) recently upgraded to open Classes IX & X and Classes XI & XII from the academic year 2016; Newly appointed heads of high/ higher secondary schools holding the post of Headmaster/ Principal for the first time (both Government & Private); Assistant Headmaster/ Vice-Principal holding the current charge as head of institution. NSF meeting on Feb 22
Kohima, February 20 (MExN): Office of the Naga Students' Federation (NSF) has convened an Emergency Presidential Council Meeting on February 22, 12 noon at NSF conference hall. A press release from NSF informed that the agenda of the meeting will be the memorandum submitted to the Government of Manipur with regard to assault on NSF officials on February 14 in Imphal when the officials were on their way to attend Lui-Ngai-Ni festival at Ukhrul. All the Federating Units have been requested to attend the meeting positively.
Peren Police rescue four boys
Peren, February 20 (MExN): Four boys who had run away from their homes in Jalukie Town on October 6, 2015 and had been missing since then have been rescued by a team of Peren Police led by SDPO Peren from three different locations – Chiepama village, Ghaspani, and Guwahati. A press release from Superintendent of Police, Peren said that the boys have been reunited with the family members on February 20 in Jalukie.
Unity College Industrial Motivation Campaign held
Dimapur, February 20 (MExN): The Career Counselling Cell of Unity College Dimapur organized an Industrial Motivation Campaign on February 18. Govind Raj, Asst. Director, MSME, Govt. of India was the resource person. Govind Raj gave a presentation on how students can start their own enterprises after graduation. He explained in detail the steps that are needed to start off an enterprise as well as the assistance provided by the government in doing so. Govind Raj also spoke at length about motivating the employees as they are the main force behind the success of any enterprise.
