AR apprehend one arms peddler
Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): 32 Assam Rifles along with police representatives recovered one illegal muzzle loading .22 rifle, one hand grenade and “some incriminating documents” from a house at Aoyimsen Colony here on March 15 around 5:30 am. According to a press release from Assam Rifles, the search was carried out based on specific information about movement of an arms peddler in the area. In this connection, one person identified as Thysam, ex NNC cadre, was arrested and handed over to West Police Station with all the recovered items, the release said.
Gandhi Shilp Bazar in Dimapur; artisans invited
Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): The Nagaland Handloom & Handicrafts Development Corporation Ltd. Dimapur is organizing Gandhi Shilp Bazar in Dimapur Town from March 29 to April 7, sponsored by office of the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India, New Delhi. Interested Societies, NGOs, SHGs, Artisans etc. may apply to the Project Cell, NHHDC Ltd., Half Nagarjan, Dimapur, along with the photo copy of artisan card issued by the Development Commissioner Handicrafts, Govt. of India on or before March 25 during office hour. The stalls will be provided free of cost with lump sum Daily Allowances to each stall. This was informed in a press release issued by Er. S. Temsulong Jamir, Additional Director, Industries & Commerce & Managing Director.
NSCN (R) terminates member
Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): The NSCN (Reformation) has terminated one of its members identified as Lt. Col. Yangpongse Sangtam of United Sangtam Region (USR) from the national service with immediate effect. A press release from MIP, NSCN/ GPRN (R) stated that Yangpongse was terminated owing to his “anti social activities” towards the government. The NSCN (R) further informed the general public and various agencies not to deal with anybody without proper assignment from the competent authority.
ZKPO informed log contractors
Peren, March 19 (MExN): Zeliang-Kuki Public Organisation (ZKPO) of Ahthibung, Kebai-Khelma circle has informed all log contractors under Ahthibung and Kebai-Khelma circle that there will be road repairing from March 25. During the period of road repair, plying of vehicles will be banned, informed the organization in a press release. Therefore, all contractors have been requested to cooperate and take part in the road repairing so that the road is pliable for all types of vehicles and throughout season.
PDSA condoles
Phek, March 19 (MExN): The Phek District Sports Association (PDSA) has mourned the demise of Duta Ringa on March 8 in Dimapur. “Duta Ringa was a prominent sports person who brought fame and laurels to the society on many occasions,” state a condolence note from PDSA Press Secretary, Solomon Ritse. “His demise is a big loss to the sports community of our district.” The Association further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

AR install solar street lights in villages
Dimapur, March 19 (MExN): The Assam Rifles have installed solar street lights at Litsung B Sector, Longkhim of Tuensang district and Litsami village of Zunheboto district. The solar lights were formally inaugurated by Colonel Sachit Suri, Commandant, 5 Assam Rifles, informed a press release from Assam Rifles.
