CM extends greetings on Aoleang, Monyu
Kohima, March 31 (MExN): The Chief Minister of Nagaland TR Zeliang on Thursday extended his warm greetings on the festive occasion of Aoleang and Monyu celebrated by Konyak and Phom tribes respectively. I hoped that the weeklong celebration and blessings of the festival will bring communities together and help in preserving their unique and rich cultural heritage and traditions, Zeliang stated in a message released through the Media cell Chief Minister’s Office, Nagaland. Further stating that the festivals will not only strengthen the spirit of unity and oneness but herald a new era of peace, prosperity and happiness for all, the CM also wished both the communities a happy and peaceful celebration.
NSCN (R) welcomes ‘Home Comers’
Dimapur, March 31 (MExN): The NSCN (R) through its MIP today informed that it has welcomed several workers from different Naga Political Groups (NPGs) at its sub-office in Mon. According to a press release from MIP, NSCN (R), the new “Home Comers” includes N Anden, Dy. Kilonser (NSCN-U); Vitsu Robert Dy. Kilonser (NNC) Non Accordist; Capt. Alih (NSCN-U); and Lieut. Langphong (NSCN-U) along with 1 AK 56 & Ammunitions. The New Home Comers stated that they have lost confidence in the leadership of their respective NPGs and decided to join the leadership of Y Wangtin Naga and Mr. P. Tikhak, the MIP release further maintained.
DLCC on tobacco control meeting
Kohima, March 31 (DIPR): All the members of District Level Coordination Committee (DLCC) on Tobacco Control have been informed that there will be a quarterly consultative meeting on April 7 at 1:00 pm at the conference hall of Deputy Commissioner Kohima. The meeting will be held in connection with the violation of the main provisions of COTPA 2003 (Section 4&6). In this connection all the concerned members have been requested to attend the meeting positively. This was informed by District Nodal Officer (NTCP) Kohima, Nagaland, Dr. Arenla Walling.
NAGC to be launched at TMHSS
Kohima, March 31 (DIPR): The Nagaland State Social Welfare Board will be launching the Nagaland Adolescent Girls Club (NAGC) at Thinuovicha Memorial Higher Secondary School, Kohima on April 4.
More BJP State office bearers appointed
Dimapur, March 31 (MExN): The Nagaland State BJP President Visasolie Lhoungu has appointed more State office bearers. A press release from BJP Nagaland (Media) General Secretary Jaangsillung Gonmei informed that the office bearers who fail to attend the office bearers’ meeting consecutively for three times without prior information will automatically be replaced without any warning as per the provision of the party constitution. This order will come into force with immediate effect from the date of the issue of President’s order dated March 17, 2016, it said. The newly office bearers are: Khiubandibo – General Secretary; Nyimathung Odyuo – State Secretary; K. Thong – State Secretary; T. Ombu Chang – State Secretary; Mhalo – State Secretary; Aienla – State Secretary; Chumbemo – State Secretary; Doodh Singh – Party Co-ordinator. Meanwhile, the BJP Nagaland has corrected that the name of one of its State executive members published recently in local press should be read as Kelhouzhatuo Nakhro and not Kelhousetuo Nakhro.

Urban Development implements 10% lumpsum scheme
Kohima, March 31 (DIPR): The Department of Urban Development during the year 2015-16 carried out the projects sanctioned under 10% lumpsum scheme under the Ministry of Urban Development. Out of the sanctioned projects, 36 projects have been successfully completed. The notable works executed under the scheme were the construction of road connecting Peren district, road to NH-39, infrastructure development works for Jalukie, infrastructure development and protection works in Pfutsero, improvement of circular roads in Mokokchung Town and construction of guest house/rest house at Chen town, Mon.
