Heavy vehicles restricted on Chathe sub-ways
Dimapur, February 21 (MExN): In view of the ongoing work for construction of Bailey Bridge at 40 mile over Chathe River behind CIHSR (Referral Hospital), heavy vehicles are restricted from plying through the sub-ways provided till further notice. Informing this in a press release, Er. Talitemsu Jami, Executive Engineer, PWD (R&B) Dimapur division stated “the abutment excavated for abutment on Diphupar-A side is caving in and may further cause complications with the passage of heavy vehicle.” They may use either the Seithekima road or the Eralibil-Nihoto road for the time being, it added. While urging the public to bear with the inconvenience, the department said it will not be held responsible in case of any eventuality arising due to non-adherence of the notice. Light vehicles may continue to use the existing temporary sub-way and also the alternate sub-way provided on the downstream of the bridge location, the release added.
One found dead
Dimapur, February 21 (MExN): One dead body of a non-Naga male aged around 50 years was found at Military Farm, Army Supply Road, Dimapur on February 21. A press release from Addl. Dy. Commissioner of Police/PRO, Dimapur informed that no injury mark has been found during preliminary enquiry and the victim is suspected to have died of illness. After obtaining all legal formalities the deceased was shifted to Civil Hospital Morgue for post-mortem examination and identification, it said. Claimant for the dead body or relatives and friends have been requested to contact Sub-Urban Police Station (SBN), Officer-in-Charge.
Spasmo Proxyvon, cough syrup seized from pharmacies
Zunheboto, February 21 (DIPR): Ahead of the February 27 polls, Zunheboto Police led by SDPO, Zubenthung Ovung along with Drug Inspector Lutovi and 11th IRB personnel raided pharmacies in and around Zunheboto Town and seized 6777 pills of Spasmo Proxyvon and 133 bottles of cough syrups on February 20. The accused have been booked under NDPS Act.
DC&DEO Mokokchung informs
Mokokchung, February 21 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer of Mokokchung, Sachin Jaiswal (IAS) has informed all the polling personnel under Mokokchung district that group formation for polling duty will be displayed on February 22 at Town Hall. Therefore, all the polling personnel have been directed to identify their group members for proper communication and coordination. On February 25, polling station assignment will be displayed at the same venue, it was informed.
APO appeals voters
Kohima, February 21 (MExN): In view of the assembly election scheduled for February 27, the Governing Body of the Angami Public Organisation (APO) had a meeting on February 20 and decided to make appeals to the citizens. While supporting the Clean Election movement being spearheaded by the Nagaland Joint Christian Forum (NJCF), APO has invited all citizens to imbibe it and exercise their franchise. In a press release issued by its president, Dr. Kepelhusie Terhuja and information & publicity secretary, Neithono Sothu, the organization also called upon all the Nagas to earnestly adhere to the election Model Code of Conduct as per ECI guidelines. It also requested the citizens to maintain peace and harmony in the election season. Further, APO appealed to all to “conscientiously and sagaciously use their mind to elect God fearing, honest and capable leaders to represent us.”
NSCN (IM) recovers bike
Hebron, February 21 (MExN): The Union Territory of NSCN (IM) has recovered a two wheeler (Yamaha FZ-S, green/black in color) bearing Chassis number ME121C067A2011098 and engine number 21C6011019. A press release from MIP, NSCN (IM) has informed the rightful owner to claim the same by producing the proper documents at the UT office during office hour within one week from the date of this publication.
