Ao Senden & Gorkha Union resolve Mokokchung, April 27 (MExN): Ao Senden and Gorkha Union Mokokchung held a joint meeting on April 26, 2016 and resolved to maintain mutual cooperation and peaceful coexistence between the two communities. In this regard, it was resolved that members of the Gorkha/Nepali community residing in Mokokchung district, including those residing in Mokokchung Town, should register themselves with the Gorkha Union immediately. Further, Ao Senden has also directed the local landowners and house owners to ensure that their residents/wards belonging to the Gorkha community register themselves with the Gorkha Union.     Senior SP Kohima informs Kohima, April 27 (MExN): In pursuance of Home Department, Police Establishment Branch Notification No. POL-1/ESTT/40/2011 Dated 11/04/2016, the present post of Dy. Superintendent of Police (Esstt), Kohima has been re-designated as Sub Divisional Police Officer (North) and Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Kohima re-designated as Sub Divisional Police Officer (South). According to a press release from Joseph Hesso, Sr. Superintendent of Police, Kohima, Puzoto Khatso, SDPO (North) will supervise the functions of North PS, Chiephobozou PS, and Tseminyu PS. Meanwhile, Atu Zumvü, SDPO (South) will supervise the functions of South PS, Khuzama PS, Sechü (Zubza) PS, and Kezocha PS.  

  Diphupar B Village silver jubilee Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): The inauguration of Silver Jubilee of Diphupar B Village will be held at the Ao Baptist Church, Diphupar B on April 30, 8:30 am. Therefore, the Village Council has requested all recognized community Chairmen & Secretaries, Pastors, Ass. Pastors, women leaders, youth & SS Directors from every denomination and Jubilee Planning, Finance, History committee members and elders to attend the programme positively. This was informed in a press release issued by N Mhabemo Mozhui, Secretary, Diphupar B Village.     ENPO condoles Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): The Eastern Nagaland Peoples’ Organisation (ENPO) has mourned the sudden demise of Serangmong Sangtam, former President of United Sangtam Likhum Pumji (USLP) on April 23 in Dimapur. Late Serangmong was an active and committed social worker at the grassroots for his tribe in particular and Eastern Nagaland in general, ENPO President S. Khoiwang Konyak and General Secretary Manlang Phom said in a condolence message. Informing that he was also an instant signatory to the statehood demand of ENPO (Frontier Nagaland), ENPO said, “He will be remembered for his endurance and selfless contribution towards the people of Eastern Nagaland.” It further offered prayers of Lord’s comfort and peace upon the bereaved family and wished an eternal peace for the departed soul.     KTC students get help Tuensang, April 27 (MExN): Principal of Kihoto Theological College (KTC), Yahkor village has informed that the district administration led by ADC Shamator and 11 IR Battalion ‘C’ officials had made necessary security and transportation arrangement enabling the students from Pungro sub-division studying at KTC to reach their destination Pungro safely. The principal, T Wongtoktu Yimchunger in a press release informed that it had become difficult for the students to travel to certain areas due to volatile situation aftermath the law and order problem in Kiphire Town. The college administration has lauded the ADC Shamator for the timely action and concern for the students. The 15th Assam Rifles also played a Good Samaritan by providing refreshment to all the travelers on that day at Anatongre village, the release added.     LMRSU to tour villages Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): Lotha Middle Range Students' Union (LMRSU) will be touring all affiliated units/villages starting from first week of May. The union will hold meetings with grassroots level government functionaries and sensitize the needs for public participation in effective enforcement of established norms and importance of value based education. At the same time, the LMRSU will also take notice of government functionaries’ shortcomings that affect public interests, a press release from LMRSU informed. Therefore, LMRSU has appealed to all government functionaries to remain in station. The union further cautioned that any functionaries found absent on the day of its visit will be dealt as per government established rules.     PNUK convenes meeting Kohima, April 27 (MExN): The Poumai Naga Union Kohima (PNUK) has convened an emergency general meeting on April 30, 10:30 am at Poumai Baptist Church, Midland, Kohima. All the members, leaders of all frontal organizations and five representatives from each village have been requested to attend the meeting without fail. This was stated in a release issued by PNUK Assembly Secretary, Dai Moses.     Tsiepfütsiepfhe colony residents get LLINs Kohima, April 27 (MExN): The Department of Health and Family Welfare under the National Vector Borne Control Programme (NVBDCP) distributed Long Lasting Insecticidal Nets (LLINs) to the residents of Tsiepfütsiepfhe (AG) colony in Kohima on April 15. Elaborating on the need for good health and healthy living, Dr. Binny, DVBO stressed on protection of oneself from vector borne insects and precaution, a press release from Tsiepfütsiepfhe colony council informed. Tepungosa Sale (Pharmacist) read out the advantage of the LLINs and its correct uses to the beneficiaries.
