10 join NSCN (R) Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): 10 members from various Naga Political Groups including have joined the NSCN/ GPRN (Reformation). According to a press release from the MIP NSCN (R), the 10 include 6 from the GPRN/NSCN and 2 each from the NSCN (IM) and NSCN (K). The “home comers” have reposed their faith and confidence under the visionary and dynamic leadership of Y. Wangtin Naga and P. Tikhak, the MIP stated. “Their joining the NSCN (R) is the right decision taken in the interest of the Nagas,” it added. Armed GPRN/NSCN cadre held Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): Personnel of the 37 Assam Rifles apprehended one armed GPRN/NSCN cadre in Piphema. A press release from the AR identified the apprehended individual as Captain Neisalie Angami. One .32 Pistol, .32 ammunition and incriminating documents were recovered, it added. On spot questioning, the apprehended cadre revealed that he was tasked to collect Army Ration Tax/ Yearly Tax from Piphema, the release further informed. The apprehended person along with recovered items was handed over to Medziphema Police Station. Rotary Club Mao condoles Dimapur, May 10 (MExN): The Rotary Club of Mao has expressed deep pain and great sense of loss at the sudden demise of Akha Ashuli on May 9. Late Ashuli was the treasurer of Rotary Club for two consecutive terms before handing over the charge to his wife because of failing health. “A deep vacuum has been left behind and we will miss him ever,” the Club stated in a message. Extending condolences to the bereaved family, the club prayed for his soul rest in peace. AR constructs borewell at Lungwa Mon, May 10 (MExN): Continuing its endeavour towards improving the living standards and providing basic amenities to locals in remote villages of Mon District, the Assam Rifles’ constructed a Borewell at Lungwa Village to alleviate the problems of drinking water to villagers. According to an AR press release, the people were facing acute shortage of water and water borne diseases due to unhygienic water sources. The borewell, according to the AR, will resolve the problem of availability of safe drinking water to a large extent. Medical camp held at Kumlong Mokokchung, May 7 (MExN): The Kumlong Baptist Church (KBC) in collaboration with the office of the Chief Medical Officer (CMO) Mokokchung conducted a free medical camp at the church premises where more than two hundred patients availed the free medical services and medicines. The medical camp was initiated by the mission board of Kumlong Baptist Church. The Kumlong Baptist Church deeply acknowledged the KBC mission board, the Kumlong ward citizens. Above all, the KBC acknowledged the team of doctors like Dr Takosunep, Dr Ayangla, Dr Marina etc. It may be noted here that Kumlong ward is one of the oldest and the biggest wards in Mokokchung town.
