
NNC UT-1 reminds Kiumukum on ‘expulsion’ Dimapur, June 2 (MExN): The Union Territory-1 of the Naga National Council has reminded Kiumukum Yimchungrii of his expulsion on June 2, 2011 “by his own Yimchungrii region”. “His own people wrote and pointed out much about his mischief and misdeeds at that time which were well known to the people of this so called leader,” a press release from H. Sumi, Chairman, UT-1 stated. “The Yimchungrii people will make it clear and bring to light again about this person in days to come and his other stories will be exposed afresh as per his demand, and also the UT-1 will write more about his degraded stories,” the UT-1 Chairman added. “We will gladly keep on writing about him as demanded by him. Let the people be reminded more and more about him afresh.” Unidentified body recovered Kohima, June 2 (MExN): An unidentified body of a non-Naga male, aged around 35-40 years, height 5 ft 11” and dark complexion, was found below NH-2 near Manipur FCI godown, Kohima on May 31 at around 9pm. According to a press release from Kohima Police PRO Atu Zumvü, the victim was found wearing an undergarment and “a wrist band usually used by Hindus”. The victim bore nine stitches on his head near left ear, two protruding teeth on right upper jaw and both sides of arms tattooed, the release added. Further informing that the body is being kept at the morgue of Kohima South PS for identification, the PRO informed that details can be obtained from the Kohima South police station or Khuzama police station before the expiry of 72 hours. AR apprehends armed NSCN (IM) cadre Peren, June 2 (MExN): Troops of 18 Assam Rifles apprehended one NSCN (IM) cadre from a house at Belikui Colony near Kepuijang junction in Peren on May 29. According to a press release from the AR, the cadre, identified as Private Gongdau (38 years), is reported to be involved in “illegal extortion and intimidating local populace”. One 7.65 mm Pistol (Made in USA) along with 3 live ammunitions, 3 mobile phones, cash amounting to Rs 3,000 and incriminating documents were recovered, the AR release informed. The cadre along with the seized weapon and articles were handed over to Peren Police Station.
