ANAHTA Wokha appeals for release of pending salary Wokha, June 25 (MExN): The All Nagaland Aggrieved Hindi Teachers’ Association (ANAHTA), Wokha unit has appealed to the Department of School Education (DoSE) to release their salaries which have been pending since the beginning of 2016. In a press statement, ANAHTA Wokha unit President stated that due to the non-payment of the salaries, the teachers are facing lots of problems, even to maintain their family and children’s education. It was also mentioned that many teachers are posted in the remote areas of the State and need their salaries to be released on time. In this light, the aggrieved teachers have requested the Directorate of School Education to release the pending salaries upto June 2016 at the earliest. “If our grievances are not redressed, we shall be left with no option but to take our own course of action for which the department shall be held responsible,” the unit warned.     AR train NCC cadets Mokokchung, June 25 (MExN): 44 Assam Rifles organised a weapon display cum demonstration on June 21 for 417 NCC cadets undergoing 10 days Annual Training Camp at DEF Colony in Mokokchung. Cadets from various schools of Mokokchung, Tuensang, Mon, Longleng and Zunheboto districts were given hands on experience on various weapons, according to a press release from Assam Rifles.     DDGBA inaugurates office Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): Dimapur District GB Association (DDGBA) inaugurated its new office on June 25. In the programme, the DDGBA thanked Kesonyu Yhome, Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur for allocating a room for the office in DC office building. The Association in a press release informed all that the office timing will be every Wednesday, first and third Saturdays every month. It was also informed that the Dimapur District GBs Association comprises of six units - Dimapur GBs Union (Sadar), Chumukedima GBs Union, Dhansaripar GBs union, Niuland GBs Union, Kuhuboto GBs Union, Medziphema GBs Union.     Kohima Police seize alcohol Kohima, June 25 (MExN): Kohima Police personnel manning Peducha check gate during routine frisking and checking of vehicles seized alcohol on June 25 around 5:45 am. The 20 cases of MC rum were recovered from one Maruti 800 bearing registration number NL-07-9423. The driver of the vehicle identified as Arron Zhimo was taken into police custody for possession and transportation of the banned IMFL, informed a press release from SDPO/PRO (South), Kohima Police. Meanwhile, a regular case vide Sechü (Zubza) P.S Case No. 0014/2016 U/S 44(a)(e) NLTP Act has been registered against the accused for further investigation.  

  Neighborhood Parliament at Shotomi Zunheboto, June 25 (MExN): The Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK), Zunheboto block organized Neighborhood Parliament at Shotomi Village on June 20 with Advocate Vikaho G Chishi as resource person. Vikaho informed that the youth parliament is a stage where youth from various social lives can come together to discuss and raise various social, political, and economic issues from block to national level. He called upon the youth to come together to bring change in the society through active participation in all round development. 80 youth attended the programme.     NSCA on threat to SC Jamir Dimapur, June 25 (MExN): The Nagaland Senior Citizens’ Association (NSCA) has expressed shock at the threat issued to the Governor of Odisha, Dr. SC Jamir by the Naxalites/Maoist. The Association in a press release expressed that better sense will prevail and the threat against Jamir will be withdrawn. The release issued by President, Dr. SI Tushi Ao and General Secretary, S. Ghunakha Swu further stated that misunderstanding, if any, should be discussed and solved honorably in the interest of both the parties.
