
School Education dept informs
Kohima, March 8 (DIPR): Director, School Education, Wonthungo Tsopoe in a circular informed all the private Higher Secondary Schools and High Schools, that the physical Education section under the Directorate of School Education is going to conduct a weeklong ‘basic training on physical education activities’ for all sports teachers – both male and female – at GHS Kigwema Kohima. To meet the basic needs for the said training, a sum of Rs.3000 only shall be collected at Room No.4 of the Directorate during Office hours from March 10 onward from every participating teacher. The School authority may send one teacher (Sports Incharge). Date and Timing will be intimated to the participating schools separately.
Kohima: 2nd IPPI from March 11
Kohima, March 8 (MExN): The Chief Medical Officer, Kohima, Dr. Ritu Thurr has informed that the 2nd round of Intensified Pulse Polio Immunization (IPPI) targeting children between 0 to 5 years will be held on March 11 in Kohima district, and thereafter house to house activity will be undertaken in the next two days. In view of this IPPI activity, CMO has urged all the Chairmen of villages, colonies & wards, educational institutions, youth leaders, church leaders, woman organization, ASHAs & AWWs to mobilize the community for the upcoming event. Mobile Transit team will be visiting transit point especially bus stand and taxi stand.
AR builds shelter for Athibung family
Jalukie, March 8 (MExN): Jalukie Battalion of Assam Rifles constructed a “living shelter” for a family in Athibung village of Peren district and handed over the same on March 6. “Troops of Assam Rifles constructed the home with the help of locals for Dekhai and her two grand children whose home was completely burnt in a fire accident on February 12, 2018 and rendered the family homeless,” stated a press release from PRO, HQ IGAR (N). Assam Rifles also provided essential clothing, ration and utensils to the family, the release added.
Faculty Development prog held at C-Edge College
Dimapur, March 8 (MExN): The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of C-Edge College, Dimapur organised a one day Faculty Development Programme on March 6. The programme focused on three major factors viz., Evaluation, Critical Thinking and Scientific Temper and how these can be instilled in their teaching skills and inculcated in the students. The programme also featured an open interaction and deliberation where the Principal, Dr. Chubatola Aier encouraged the entire faculty to consciously apply the aspects of critical thinking and scientific temper and also mentioned that these can be applied in Perspective Classes, one of the innovative practices of the college.
