
Senior citizens appeal to new CM
Kohima, March 10 (MExN): The Nagaland Senior Citizens Association (NSCA), while extending congratulations to Neiphiu Rio on becoming the 19th Chief Minister of Nagaland today expressed hope that the Prime Minister’s promises of development and Naga solution declared on February 22 are implemented in reality. In a press release issued by its president, Dr. SI Tushi Ao and general secretary, S. Ghunakha Swu, NSCA further appealed that repair and renovation of roads within 60 days in Kohima Town and Dimapur Town etc. declared on March 8 at the CM’s maiden cabinet meeting is “meticulously observed and done in honour of your honourable seat garnering people’s respect.” The senior citizens’ body also wished the new Chief Minister “good health, longevity and pray that God give you and your cabinet colleague wisdom and strength to scale a new height under your leadership.”
ATMA Sechü-Zubza block conducts field day and demo
Kohima, March 10 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Sechü-Zubza block conducted field day and demonstration programme on March 9 at Jotsoma village. The functionaries stressed on the importance of organic farming. The programme, attended by 21 members from various SHGs, focused on the basic facts of organic farming system for crops like cabbage and mustard in the locality. Demonstrations on nursery bed preparations, intercropping and pest and disease control was conducted by ATM Keviravono Visa and ATM Thejavizonuo Kelio respectively.
D.El.Ed candidates in GHSS Phek informed
Phek, March 10 (MExN): All the Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed) 2017-2019 candidates under Government Higher Secondary School (GHSS), Phek Centre have been informed that Personal Contact Programme (PCP) Sessions (First Year) will commence on March 15 at 10:00 am onwards. The details of the programme will be intimated during the Contact Programme, stated a press release from Centre Coordinator.
PNUK condemns ‘life attempt’ on NSF leader
Kohima, March 10 (MExN): The Poumai Naga Union Kohima (PNUK) has condemned the “life attempt” on vice president of Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), Boveio Poukai Duo, his cousin Velu, and former NSF Speaker Joshua Thong by an unknown armed miscreant who fired two shots at them near East Police Station Dimapur on March 3 around 9:00 pm. The Union stated such “cowardly act” towards the students’ leaders without any reason is “condemnable and uncalled for.” A press release issued by president PNUK Sülunü Rapaobamai urged the authority concerned to arrest and book the responsible person(s) at the earliest.
Kohima DPDB meeting
Kohima, March 10 (MExN): The monthly Kohima District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting will be held on March 15 at 10:00 am at DPDB conference hall in Kohima. Deputy Commissioner & Vice Chairman, DPDB Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan, IAS, has requested all concerned to attend the meeting positively.
