NCSU Dimapur unit extends support Dimapur, October 14 (MExN): The Nagaland Contractors & Supplier Union (NCSU), Dimapur unit has expressed support to its head office for opposing Maytas & Gayatri to execute the 4-lane road project of Dimapur-Kohima N/H 29 “without completing the previous SARDP project and abandoned in the half way.” NCSU Dimapur unit in a press statement affirmed to support the head office in any move against the Maytas & Gayatri on the 4-lane project. The unit president, W. Khape and general secretary, I. Wati maintained that the company left the previous project under SARDP Phase-1 incomplete creating inconveniences to many citizens in the state. Therefore, it urged the company to first complete the SARDP Phase-1 project. The union also called NGOs and all the responsible citizens to support the NCSU stand.     ANGPTA Dimapur unit informs to submit documents Dimapur, October 14 (MExN): All Nagaland Government Primary Teachers’ Association (ANGPTA), Dimapur unit (Dimapur/Niuland) has informed all Head Teachers/Teacher-in-charge to submit the membership and documents of all Primary Teachers of their respective schools. Meanwhile, the Primary Teachers under DEO were also requested to submit their documents. Informing that the collection has been extended till October 17 and 18, the unit requested all to co-operate for the welfare of all. For further details, contact: 8974517526/ 9862263522/ 9862927267.     AR apprehend NSCN (K) cadre in Zbto Zunheboto, October 14 (MExN): Troops of 5 Assam Rifles along with police representatives apprehended an NSCN (K) cadre during a search operation carried out at New Colony, Zunheboto on October 5 based on an input about extortion activity in the area by NSCN (K) cadres. According to a press release from Assam Rifles, the cadre identified as Tomakum Yimchunger was apprehended along with one .22 pistol. Meanwhile, based on his information, one .22 pistol with magazine, arms and manufacturing tools were recovered from one Keiseikham Yimchunger, the release added. “The individuals were involved in extortion along with manufacturing and supply of illegal weapons to various underground factions,” Assam Rifles alleged. The two were handed over to the Zunheboto Police Station on October 5.     Naga Kuotsu Union mourns Kohima, October 14 (MExN): Naga Kuotsu Union (NKU) has expressed shock at the demise of Batou Kuotsu on October 14 morning. In a condolence note, the union informed that the deceased served as the joint secretary of NKU from 2008-2013 and as vice president from 2013-2016. It remembered Batou as a person who loved his people with all his heart. “He was a very hospitable person and a guiding force of Naga Kuotsu Union,” it added. Regretting that in his death, the union has lost a very dynamic leader, NKU conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that God grant them strength and solace. “We, the whole Naga Kuotsu community share with you the pain and sorrow at this moment of grief and want to say that we are with you in our thoughts and prayers.”     Notice on mortgaging lands at Phekerkrie Basa Kohima, October 14 (MExN): The Co-founders Union of Phekerkrie Basa village has issued a warning to all those villagers and village leaders selling and mortgaging lands at Phekerkrie Basa, stating that it will not allow anybody to sell their forefather's land to others. “It is learnt that some vested village leaders are looting the properties, lands of our forefathers and selling, mortgaging at Khekerkrie Basa, so we will not by any means give an iota of these lands to anyone,” stated a press note issued by Neiphre-u, Chairman, Phekerkrie Basa Co-founders Union. It further stated that it will not allow any unqualified persons to “appoint among themselves to be village leaders to loot the present properties in all movable or non-movable assets, and government funds etc.”     Jakhama Students Union meeting Kohima, October 14 (MExN): In preparation of the Golden Jubilee celebration of Jakhama Students’ Union scheduled for December 27 and 28, 2016, a meeting of all the various committees constituted for the jubilee has been convened on October 16, 1:00 pm at Panchayat Hall, Jakhama. Therefore, all convenors and members of the committees have been requested to attend the meeting without fail.
