
World Consumer Rights Day in Kma
Kohima, March 13 (MExN): The Nagaland Voluntary Consumers’ Organisation (NVCO) has been observing two-week long World Consumer Rights Day (March 15) since March 1. The NVCO president Adv. Kezhokhoto Savi will address the non-teaching faculty of Nagaland University, Kohima campus on March 14 in view of the World Consumer Rights Day. He will also be the main speaker at the government programme scheduled for March 15 at the state capital, informed a press release from NVCO. It also informed that Kohima Law College will observe the day on March 14.
DDPODU election
Dimapur, March 13 (MExN): Dimapur District Pick-up Van Owners and Drivers’ Union (DDPODU) has informed all its members that the 3rd presidential election of the union will be held on March 28 at the union head office in Zeliangrong village, Dhobinala from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Counting will be done on the same day 3:00 pm onwards followed by declaration of the result. A press release from the DDPODU general secretary Tongpangkumba informed that filing of nomination will take place from March 14 to 19 till 3:00 pm; scrutiny of nomination – March 20; withdrawal – March 21. Intending candidates have been asked to contact the Election Commission of the union at the head office from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Members with union identity card are only eligible to vote, the release added.
NMA offers condolences
Kohima, March 13 (MExN): The Naga Mothers’ Association (NMA) has expressed sadness at the sudden demise of Mhetshe Nuh, youngest son of Sara Nuh, NMA Vice President in Pune on March 7. “Words are inadequate to express our grief and we share the pain your family is going through at the loss of such a humble and kind soul. We fondly remember Late Mhetshe who was always so warm and a gentle human being,” read a condolence note from NMA. The Association conveyed love and sympathies to all the bereaved family members and friends, while praying that God will comfort and console them all in this hour of grief.
NSCN (IM) recovers scooty
Dimapur, March 13 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) Dimapur Town Command team has recovered one scooty (Hero, white and black in colour) bearing chassis number MF4JF502EE8078399 and engine number JF50E-81078031 on March 12. Therefore, the Adjutant Dimapur Town Command Major Simon has informed the owner to claim the two-wheeler by producing authentic documents within five days. NSCN (R) terminates one
Dimapur, March 13 (MExN): The NSCN (Reformation) UT-1 has issued a termination order to one of its cadres identified as Kuhoto Zhimo, Leacy from the active national service with immediate effect. A press release from MIP, NSCN (R) informed that he was found indulging in “anti-social activities which is against the ‘Yehzabo’ of the government.” It further asked the general public not to entertain him in any way relating to the matter of the NSCN (R) government.
Prohibitory order in Tseminyu revoked
Tseminyu, March 13 (DIPR): In view of the prevailing normal law and order situation, and nil report of violence/untoward incidents in Tseminyu sub-division, the District Magistrate of Kohima, Rajesh Soundrarajan (IAS) has in an order on March 12 revoked the prohibitory order under section 144 CrPC promulgated on February 25, 2018 with immediate effect.
