DC Kohima informs on deposited arms
Kohima, March 15 (DIPR): The Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer Kohima, Rajesh Soundararajan IAS has informed that with the completion of the general election to the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, all the arms/ammunition deposited by the concerned license holders may be returned back to the concerned depositors with proper verification/ receipt by the authority of Sr. Superintendent of Police Kohima.
Mokokchung to mark World Water Day with marathon
Mokokchung, March 15 (MExN): The Mokokchung Press Club (MPC) in partnership with Water Sanitation and Safety Organization, PHED Mokokchung will be organising a marathon race on March 22 in commemoration of World Water Day under the theme “Nature for Water”. The marathon race will be open for all age groups. There will be two categories of competition: Men’s Open Marathon race and Women’s Open Marathon race. AR claims arrest of suspected NSCN (K) cadre
Medziphema, March 15 (MExN): The Medziphema Battalion of Assam Rifles has claimed the arrest of a suspected NSCN (K) cadre and the recovery of an illegal weapon from Medziphema. According to a defence press release, the AR along with police representative conducted a search based on a specific information from a house in Medziphema and recovered one .22 mm Pistol along with magazine and one Mobile Set with SIM Card. A suspected cadre of NSCN (K) identified as Thang Khomang, age 42 years, was also arrested, the release informed. The accused along with recovered items was handed over to Medziphema Police Station for further investigation.
NNC to observe 63rd Republic Day
Kohima, March 15 (MExN): The Ministry of Rali Wali, Federal Government of Nagaland (FGN) has informed that the Central level along with the Angami Region of the Naga National Council (NNC) and the FGN will celebrate the 63rd Nagaland Republic Day on March 22, 10 a.m. at the Transit Peace Camp, Kohima. A press release from FGN Rali Wali Kilonser, Capt. (Retd.) Yirei Lungleng, in this regard, requested all Regions, Sub-Regions and Villages to celebrate the 63rd Nagaland Republic Day in their respective areas. “All fellow Nagas who are unable to participate in the function are also requested to observe or say at least a prayer on the historic day of our Nation in accordance with your conveniences,” Capt. Lungleng appealed.
