CM extends Chega Gadi, Lamsimngyi greetings Kohima, October 30 (MExN): Chief Minister of Nagaland TR Zeliang has extended warm greetings to the Zeliang community on the occasion of Chega Gadi and Lamsimngyi. “A festival to invoke God’s blessing for a bountiful harvest and good health, it is also a time for merry-making and feasting with loved ones,” Zeliang said of the festival. “We should celebrate our festivals to keep us connected to our roots, our culture, our values and also make them occasions to showcase and exhibit our rich culture and traditions. We are known for our rich culture and traditional dances and one should keep them alive and preserve their uniqueness.” The CM further wished a very happy and meaningful Chega Gadi and Lamsimngyi celebration. DC Kohima directs to use only LED lights Kohima, October 30 (DIPR): In pursuance of ‘Energy Efficient Nagaland’ initiative and also in anticipation of increased power consumption during the festive season, the Deputy Commissioner of Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor has notified the following regulations for adherence by all: All home lightings that are lighted over night should be LED tubes/bulbs; for all festive decorations only LED lights should be used; all shops, hotels lightings both within and outside should be only LED bulbs/tubes; and all decorative lightings and event/venue lightings at Hornbill Festival venue, Kisama/ IG Stadium/ Night Carnival should be only LED lightings. The Deputy Commissioner further informed all the village councils/ wards/ colonies authority under Kohima district to submit the village/colony requirements of LED bulbs or tube lights and collect the same on payment before November 10. The rate of LED bulb (9W) and LED tube light (18W) are Rs. 70 and Rs. 230 respectively. ERO KMC informs Kohima, October 30 (DIPR): The Electoral Registration Officer, KMC, Kethosituo Sekhose has informed the general public of Kohima Municipal wards that the State Election Commissioner has notified the schedule of Special Summary Revision of Electoral Roll for Municipal/Town Councils as follows: Draft publication of electoral roll on October 31; Period for lodging claims & objection from November 1-10; Period for disposal of claims and objections from November 11-17; Period for filing appeal to the respective Appellate Authority from November 18-22; Disposal of claims and objection by Appellate Authority from November 23-25; Preparation of list of amendment after the decision of Appellate Authority from November 26-28; and Final publication of E-Roll on November 29. All concerned have been informed to take note of the schedule and lodge claims & objections, if any, on the appropriate dates. ADC Wokha informs Wokha, October 30 (DIPR): ADC Wokha, Hotolu Swu has informed that in view of the forthcoming Wokha Town Council election, a Special Summary Revision has been announced starting from November 1 to 10. Any claims and objection can be submitted to the ADC/ERO Wokha and to Supervisory Officers. A special campaign in all wards will be carried out in all designated Polling Station starting from November 1. RPO condemns killing Dimapur, October 30 (MExN): Razeba Public Organization (RPO) has condemned the brutal murder of a woman on the night of October 8 at Tenyiphe-1, Dimapur. The organization has urged the authority concerned to investigate the matter at the earliest and book the accused and punish according to the law of the land. Further, RPO conveyed heartfelt condolence to the bereaved family members and prayed that the departed soul rest in eternal peace. Sumi Hoho mourns Dimapur, October 30 (MExN): Sumi Hoho has mourned the death of Mangko Phom, former president of Phom People's Council and also former president of Eastern Nagaland People's Organization. A condolence message from Sumi Hoho president, Toniho Yepthomi and general secretary, Vihuto Asumi stated that in Mangko’s death, Nagas have lost a huge figure in the field of social services. “The vacuum left by him is irreplaceable.” It further extended deepest condolences and also solidarity to the bereaved family, Phom and Eastern Naga community.
