
Elimination of Violence against Women Kohima, November 21 (MExN): Nagaland State Commission for Women (NSCW) is launching the fortnight observation of Elimination of Violence against Women at De Oriental Hotel, High School Road, Upper Bayavü Hill, Kohima on November 24 at 10:00 am. Sano Vamuzo, former chairperson, NSCW will be the chief guest. The invitees of the programme include all Kohima unit tribal women hohos. NMA, women leaders from churches and women wing of different political parties, informed Z. Nyusietho Nyuthe, Secretary, NSCW. The release mentioned that in accordance with the mandate of UN’s declaration of November 25 as 'International Day for Elimination of Violence against Women' and December 10 as 'International Human Rights Day', the intervening 16 days have been observed for the past 25 years as fortnight observation of Elimination of Violence against Women at both local and international levels to create awareness and promote advocacy for the cause. In a press release, NNC/GDRN (N/A) UT1 chairman, Kihovi Ayemi warned of stern action against any national workers or others indulging in “unauthorized” taxation/collection taking the name of the organization.
