Acharya wishes best to Indian president

Kohima, December 11 (MExN): Governor of Nagaland, PB Acharya on behalf of the people of the State and his wife extended best wishes and warm greetings to the President of India, Pranab Mukherjee today on his birthday. “We value your special concern to the people of North East. Your concern and reiteration that ‘despite their small population, North East has made immense contribution to the Nation’ has inspired us to work hard,” Acharya stated in a message to the President. Saying that the people of Nagaland vividly remember the President’s last visit to the State in 2013, the Governor added, “We eagerly wait for your second visit.” “We all pray that Almighty God give you long and healthy life and continue to lead the Nation to reach the great heights in the comity of the Nations,” he wished.  

Dimapur Night Carnival stall allottees informed

Dimapur, December 11 (MExN): The organizing committee of Dimapur Night Carnival (DNC) 2016 has requested all the stall allottees, including companies and firms, to be physically present at 8:00 am on December 13 at Naga Shopping Arcade for “earmarking and physical stall allotment.” They were further informed to come prepared for mass social work with DMC and organizing committee at the venue. In the event of absence and failure to get stall allotment, the organizing committee will not entertain any complaints, stated a press release from DNC convenor, Hokivi Chishi and secretary, Dr. Khekugha Muru.    

SDO (C) Monyakshu Town presents study materials to students

Mon, December 11 (MExN): Sentilong Ozukum, SDO (C) posted in Monyakshu Town organized a short program at Bejing School Tobu for the students of both Bejing School Tobu and Govt. High School Tobu on November 21. He handed over solar lamp, instrument box, pen and other study materials to all the students. MA Wanmai, Head Master, BST congratulated all the students selected for writing the HSLC exam and thanked Sentilong for his immense contribution and dedication rendered towards the students community in Tobu area, a press release informed. The program was attended by Chaplin, Police Baptist Fellowship, Youth Director, TTBC and staffs of both the schools.  

Trainer of Trainers Program on Sign Language

Kohima, December 11 (MExN): The Department of English, Nagaland University in collaboration with Rotary Club of Kohima and Ali Yavar Jung Institute for Speech and Hearing Disabilities, Mumbai is organising a ‘Trainer of Trainers Program on Sign Language’ for teachers, special education teachers, social workers, parents, church workers, youth leaders and others from December 13 to 16 at the Nagaland University, Kohima Campus, Meriema. The training will be held from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm daily in the Ladies Common Room at the campus. Resource persons will be from the Ali Yavar Jung Institute of Speech and Hearing Disabilities, Mumbai and Kolkata. Certificates will be awarded after completion of the training. Interested individuals have been requested to contact the HoD, Department of English, Nagaland University at 8974248224 at the earliest as seats are limited.
