CM appoints Advisors to PSUs/mission mode progs

DIMAPUR, MARCH 23 (MExN): Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has directed the following individuals to be appointed as chairpersons of various PSUs/mission mode programmes with immediate effect - Visasolie Lhoungnu as chairman bamboo mission, Dr Neiphrezo Keditsu, chairman NKVIB, Miathou Krose, chairman NHHDC, Ato Yepthomi, chairman NHL, KL Chishi, chairman DAN and Dr M Chuba Ao as chairman MARCOFED. A notification from Cabinet Secretary, Temjen Toy has requested the respected departments to issue formal notification of appointment immediately.  

KMC warns against random disposal of wastes

Kohima, March 23 (MExN): Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has pointed out waste materials, including garbage, are being thrown in areas which are not designated collection points in the Ward roads and highways. “This is causing nuisance and pollution and may lead to spread of diseases,” stated KMC Administrator Kethosituo Sekhose in a circular dated March 21. Further, it said there are also cases where despite signboards being put in place restricting throwing of wastes by Wards Colonies and the KMC, “the same is not being adhered to.” Therefore, KMC notified it will depute its inspectors from time to time to check such throwing of wastes and defaulters will be penalized upto a maximum of Rs.2000 as per Nagaland Municipal Act 2001. “The Ward councils and Ward Sanitation Committees shall also be held responsible if such random throwing of wastes is found in their respective jurisdictions,” it added.  

KMC bids farewell to Administrator

Kohima, March 23 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) organized a farewell programme for Kethosituo Sekhose, Administrator KMC on March 21. Zakiekhotuo Kiso, Office Secretary, KMC highlighted some of the activities achieved during the outgoing Administrator’s tenure and lauded him for his tireless efforts in completing some of the major tasks and assignments, a press release from KMC informed. Meanwhile, Sekhose in his speech lauded the staff for their cooperation and support in all the activities and appealed to them to continue with the same zeal to work for the welfare of KMC and Kohima city.
