CNC appeals for fasting & prayer for Nation
Hebron, January 23 (MExN): The Council of Nagalim Churches (CNC) will be conducting three days National Fasting and Prayer Program at CHQ Church, Hebron starting from January 24 -26. It will be held with a theme ‘Humility & Repentance for Forgiveness and Healing’ (2 Chronicle 7:14 &15). A press release issued by CNC General Secretary, Ikato Chishi Swu, stated it will be held, “considering the expediency of the political situation of our nation,” Therefore, the CNC requested all the national workers to attend the program positively. Further, all the regional churches, Brigades, Battalions & Units are also requested to conduct the same program in their respective churches. The CNC also appealed to all the churches in Nagalim to join them by conducting the same program on the stated days in one’s respective churches. “Together we can usher in an honorable and acceptable solution and build our nation for Christ,” the release said.
DC Peren informs HoDs on Census
Peren, January 23 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Peren, Sentiwapang Aier has informed all the Heads of Department (HoDs) under Peren District that the Government of Nagaland has already notified the first phase of Census, namely- House listing & Housing Census and updating of National Population Register (NPR) which is to be conducted from May 1 to June 15. As per Section 3 of the Census Rules 1990, teachers, clerks or any officials of the State Government can be appointed as enumerators and supervisors. In this regard, the DC in a circular, has directed all HoDs to extend cooperation and assist concerned charge officer as and when they approach the office for the employee’s details. Aier also directed the subordinates to extend the same level of cooperation and assistance in the event of being appointed as enumerators and supervisors.
MHSU cautions on R-Day boycott
Dimapur, January 23 (MExN): The Mopong Hongkong Students' Union (MHSU) has cautioned the movement of vehicle/citizens within its jurisdiction on January 26. As per a press release issued by MHSU President, it informed the citizens to be aware of the situation in connection to the proposed boycott of Republic Day. Complete shutdown will be observed and incompliance of the notification by any individual causing untoward incident will be done “at one's own risk,” it added.
Kohima Police seizes Bolero Pick-up
Kohima, January 23 (MExN): A team of Kohima Police intercepted a Bolero Pick-up car on January 22. As per a press release from PRO, Kohima, the vehicle, white in color bearing registration no. AS 04BC- 4423, which was intercepted on the National Highway, was found to be travelling with fake vehicle registration number and documents on verification. However, the Chasis number and the Engine number of the vehicle matched with the Bolero Pick-up white color which is wanted in connection with Dhokiajuli PS, Assam Case No. 0036/2020 U/S 365/392 IPC it said. Accordingly, the driver of the vehicle identified as one Chipemi, (34 years) was arrested. The seized vehicle alongwith the accused are kept in the North Police Station in safe custody for further action, the release added.
