11 MLAs appointed DPDB Chairmen

Kohima, March 29 (MExN): Nagaland Governor PB Acharya in an order on March 28 appointed eleven Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) as Chairmen of the District Planning and Development Boards (DPDBs). The eleven MLAs and the corresponding DPDBs are: Tovihoto Ayemi – Dimapur; Namri Nchang – Peren; Er. Zale Neikha – Kohima; Neiba Kronu – Phek; Imnatiba – Mokokchung; Khehovi – Zunheboto; Mmhonlumo Kikon – Wokha; Pohwang Konyak – Mon; S. Pangnyu Phom – Longleng; Toshi Wungtung – Tuensang; V. Kashiho Sangtam – Kiphire.  

Enhanced security for Opp leader; Colour coded car stickers for others

Kohima, March 29 (MExN): Reviewing its earlier decision taken on March 8 to do away with ‘VIP Culture’, the Nagaland Government on March 27 passed an order enhancing the security of Leader of the Opposition in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly. The leader of the opposition will also use security escorts and pilots within Kohima and Dimapur, the order signed by Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and Cabinet Secretary Temjen Toy stated. Meanwhile, the cabinet has also approved the proposal of the Home Department for usage of colour coded car stickers for Ministers, elected members and other officials of the State Government.  

Youth Workshop on Cultural Integration concludes

Dimapur, March 29 (MExN): A 5-day Youth workshop on Cultural Integration and Peace in Northeast concluded here today. The valedictory function was graced by Nagaland Minister of PHED, Jacob Zhimomi as Chief Guest. Cultural presentations of traditional dance and folksong by participants from Nagaland were the highlight of the day. Artists and practitioners below the age of 40 years from the eight North East states i.e., Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Nagaland, Arunachal Pradesh, Tripura and Sikkim participated in the five-day workshop. Eminent gurus of different art fields like Dance, Drama, Painting, Music and Paridhanam (fashion) put their efforts towards polishing the art skills of the artists to enhance their talents, a press release informed.  

ADC Wokha notifies on renewal of trade permit

Wokha, March 29 (DIPR): Renewal and obtaining of Trade Permit under Wokha town has been extended till April 30, 2018. This was informed by ADC & Administrator, Wokha Town Council, Wokha Nokchasashi, in a notification. Many business establishments has been running without obtaining trade permit from the concerned Authority which is in violation of the provision of the Nagaland Municipal Act, 2001 the notification further observed. ADC& Administrator, Wokha Town Council has directed the under mentioned business establishments to obtain the trade permit within the given time period: Private schools, private colleges, private hostels, private banks, bricks, sand, cement stockist, water tankers, saw/rice mills, stone crusher, cable distributors, bamboo/wood dealers, hawkers and any other business establishments without trade permit. Defaulters will be penalized as per the provision of law, warned the notification.  

Pangnyu to launch Swachhata Pakhwada

Kohima, March 29 (DIPR): Minister, Health & Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom will launch the Swachhata Pakhwada (Fortnight) - 2018 on April 2 at NHAK MD's Conference Hall, Kohima at 10:30 a.m. The theme of the Swachhata Pakhwada programme is "Swachhata Se Siddhi." Nodal Officer, Swachh Bharat & Additional Director, H&FW, Dr. Tokuhu Chishi will deliver the welcome address in the launching programme. Minister, Health & Family Welfare, S. Pangnyu Phom will initiate pledge reading after launching the programme.  

CM to address AHoDs & HoDs meeting on April 3

Kohima, March 29 (DIPR): A meeting of all Administrative Heads of Department (AHoDs) and Heads of Department (HoDs) will be held on April 3 at 11:00 am at Secretariat Conference Hall. The Chief Minister will address the meeting. This has been informed by Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy in a circular on March 28. The circular has further directed all AHoDs and HoDs to attend the meeting positively.  

BJP Dimapur holds coordination meeting

Dimapur, March 29 (MExN): The BJP Dimapur district unit held a coordination meeting with its morchas, frontals and mandals on March 27 at its district office. Reports, reviews and inputs were collected from all its constituent wings regarding the recently concluded 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly, informed a press release. The meeting, chaired by the unit president L Bendang Ao, also discussed strengthening of the party in general and particularly Dimapur district, the release added.
