DEO Dimapur informs on teachers’ awards

Dimapur, April 4 (MExN): The District Education Officer (DEO) of Dimapur, R Amongla Jamir has informed all the Principals/ Headmasters/ Head Teachers of both government and private schools under DEO office, Dimapur that the forms for teachers’ awards – District Award, State Award, and National ICT Award – as well as Financial Assistance for Teachers will be issued during office hours. All the schools concerned have been asked to collect the forms if there are any deserving teachers to be forwarded. The last date of submission for all the forms with complete documents is on or before April 20, the DEO added in a press release.  

Assam Rifles apprehend NSCN (K) cadre

Mon, April 4 (MExN): Mon battalion of Assam Rifles apprehended one alleged NSCN (K) cadre on April 2 in Chenmoho village. A press release from HQ IGAR (North) claimed that 30 ‘Kani’, 29 ‘opium flowers’, one mobile phone and Indian currency Rs. 3,000 in cash were recovered from the cadre identified as Nokpho Konyak (37). “The individual revealed that he was carrying the Opium strips for NSCN (K) cadres at Shwelo and had been working as an OGW for the group,” the release stated. The apprehended along with the recovered items was handed over to Mon Police Station for further investigation.  

CRWA mourns Bishio-o’s demise

Kohima, April 4 (MExN): The Chozuba Range Wrestling Association (CRWA) has mourned the sudden demise of Bishi-o Nienü of Chozuba village. Bishi-o, who was the first president of CRWA during 1970-1976, passed away on March 20, 2018. CRWA president Kukhoto Venyo in a press release said that late Bishi-o contributed a lot in the field of sport, especially wrestling, till his last breath. With his (Bishi-o) blessings the CRWA could produce champion in the previous years in NWA tournaments, he acknowledged. Venyo further conveyed condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed to Almighty to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
