
Kohima District Website Committee constituted
Kohima, April (DIPR): The Kohima District Website Committee for Formation and Regular Updation of Kohima District Website has been constituted to review the content of the website developed by National Informatics Centre (NIC) on S3WaaS (Service, Scalable, Sugamya Website as a Service) platform. During the event, a PowerPoint presentation on the activities of Nagaland Science and Technology Council (NASTEC) was delivered by Kekuneil Ltu, Scientist B. The committee comprises of Deputy Commissioner, Kohima as Chairman; SDO (Sadar), DPRO Kohima, DPO (Planning), DSO (Statistics), Tourist Officer, PD (DRDA), DEO (Education) as members; and District Informatics Officer, NIC as member secretary.
AYO demands evidence from NPF
Kohima, April 18 (MExN): With regard to the Naga People’s Front (NPF) allegation against the Principal Secretary, Rural Development, the Angami Youth Organization (AYO) has demanded the NPF to provide appropriate evidence to prove their allegations or apologize to the officer publicly. “Their baseless allegations have tantamount to defamation devoid of any substantial evidence or reasonable explanations except that a personal vendetta is levelled to make him a political scapegoat and a victim of any unexplainable reasons best known to themselves only,” AYO stated in a press release. “…far from political equations, the balance of the social strata of our society and respect of its values are equally important and this unwarranted assault on him who happens to be a member of our community is unacceptable.”
Choklangan Students’ Union mourns
Dimapur, April 18 (MExN): Choklangan Students’ Union has expressed shock and sadness over the demise of their young leader Y Nokyen Shiu on April 12. He was a sociable man, and born to lead his people, stated a condolence message from Mongtson L Chiu, president, Choklangan Students’ Union. Stating that he served in different capacities leaving behind many inspiring wisdom, the students’ body added, “The moment of his brilliant leadership will remain a source of inspiration and encouragement leaving lasting legacy to his people.” It expressed condolence to the bereaved family.
Typing test deferred
Wokha, April 18 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner of Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon (IAS) has informed that the District Level Screening Committee, Wokha district, which was supposed to be conducted for Speed Test for Typist grade III and II to I on April 26 at 11:00 am at the DC’s conference hall here has been deferred to March 3 due to clash of date with disaster mock drill. Therefore, all Heads of Departments/ Offices have been directed to notify all employees concerned under their administration.
DC declares Phek Open Defecation Free
Phek, April 18 (DIPR): Gram Swachh Bharat Parv under the aegis of Gram Swarai Abhiyaan (village self-governance campaign) was held for Phek district at PTC conference hall, Phek on April 18. Deputy Commissioner of Phek, Shanavas C (IAS), who was the chief guest, declared Phek district as an Open Defecation Free (ODF). He emphasized on personal and social hygiene and called upon all to co-operate and fight against waste pollution. Cleanliness, he stated, is very important for betterment of life and for healthy living. Organized by Phek Town Youth Society, the programme was chaired by Neizote Venuh, PTYS president, while keynote address was given by Er. Imtiakum, EE, PHED Phek.
