Wokha Excise dept seize liquor
Wokha, April 22 (MExN): The Excise department of Wokha seized assorted liquor during a raid conducted at GA colony here on April 22 at 11:00 am. 1655 bottles of assorted liquor were seized and the owner of the consignment, Y. Kikon, was arrested and booked under various sections of NLTP Act, stated a press release from Vithoselie Terhuja, Superintendent of Excise & Prohibition, Wokha. “In order to contain the menace of alcohol abuse, the department looks forward to the cooperation of the public even in the days to come,” the release added.
Orientation for teachers in Kohima
Kohima, April 22 (MExN): A one day orientation of school heads and teachers of Kohima district on Shaala Siddhi – 2017-18 took place on April 18 in Kohima. The resource persons were Viriezolie Yashü, Joint Director, RMSA Nagaland and B Nellayapan, Assistant Director, School Education department, Nagaland. Organized by District Education Officer’s (DEO) office, Kohima under RMSA, the programme was chaired by Piholi Swunetho, DEO Kohima.
Demo on pig housing held in Tseminyu
Tseminyu, April 22 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Tseminyu block conducted demonstration on pig housing management at Piggery Farm School in Tseminyu Town with Hisinlo Tep, Farm School teacher and proprietor of the farm. A press release informed that 18 farmers from nearby villages attended the programme. Besides demonstration, many issues concerning pig farming were discussed by the participants with the farm school teacher. Technical support was provided by Dr. Vibeilie Joseph Keretsu, Block Technology Manager, Tseminyu block and Dr Gwezenlo Tep, VAS, Tseminyu.
Media fraternity offers condolences
Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): Nagaland Press Association (NPA) and Dimapur Press Club (DPC) have expressed sadness over the passing away of Nounevilie Kire, younger brother of Mhalezolie Kire, Editor of the vernacular newspaper Capi and a senior journalist of Nagaland. Nounevilie who died on April 21 after a brief illness was working at DC office, Kohima at the time of his demise, NPA informed in a condolence message. On behalf of the entire media fraternity of Nagaland, NPA has expressed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that God will give them comfort. In a separate condolence message, Dimapur Press Club conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed to God to grant eternal peace to the departed soul.
WCH new office bearers
Dimapur, April 22 (MExN): The Western Chakhesang Hoho has elected a new team of office bearers to be headed by Dietho Rhakho as president. The new team officially took over the office on April 17 from outgoing office bearers, informed a press release from WCH press secretary, Kuveluta Soho. They will hold the WCH office for three years.
