CM offers sympathy

Kohima, April 27 (MExN): Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio has mourned the demise of Anyei Walliemp, Revenue Officer, Kohima. He passed away on April 27 in Guwahati. Recalling late Anyei as a young, capable officer who served the government efficiently in various capacities, the Chief Minister stated his untimely demise is a loss to the Nagas. In a condolence message issued by his Assistant Press Secretary, the CM further conveyed sympathies to the members of the bereaved family and prayed that God will grant them strength to bear the loss.  

Bakery products cost to increase

Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): Dimapur Bakers and Confectioners Association (DBCA) has informed that the rates of bakery products will be increased with effect from April 30, 2018 in Dimapur district. This is due to the “abnormal increase” in the cost of raw materials and oil, stated a press release from general secretary, DBCA. The new retail prices for the following products will be: Bread 400 GM – Rs. 30; Bread 800 GM – Rs. 60; Sweet bread – Rs. 40; Brown bread – Rs. 40; Multigrain bread – Rs. 60. The revised rate is subject to Dimapur district only.  

Livestock vaccination, Animal Health Camp in Dimapur

Dimapur, April 27 (MExN): Department of Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Services (AH&VS) is organizing free vaccination of all the livestock, and Animal Health Camp on account of Farmer’s Welfare Day on May 2 at Dimapur Veterinary Hospital in Burma Camp 9:00 am onwards. A press release from Chief Veterinary Officer, Dimapur stated public and farmers may come and avail the facilities.  

KLBC revival programme starts

Kohima, April 27 (MExN): Three days revival programme organised by Kohima Lotha Baptist Church (KLBC) started on April 27 in the mother church under the theme, ‘Prepare to meet your Lord’. Pastor CBC, Minister's Hill Kohima, Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao, the guest speaker, spoke on the theme during the first service. Other speakers of the revival are Rev. Mhathung, Senior Pastor, KLBC and Rev. Dr. K. Benry Pastor, KLBC. The revival will conclude on April 29.  

Health awareness programme held in Gaili

Peren, April 27 (MExN): The Health Sub Centre Management Committee (HSLM), Gaili held a health awareness programme on the topic ‘Teenage pregnancy’ on April 26 at the village panchayat hall. Kiedi, pastor, Gaili Baptist Church was the main speaker.  

Coordination meeting held in Longkhim

Tuensang, April 27 (DIPR): Monthly coordination meeting with head of offices under Longkhim sub-division was held on April 27 at DUDA Hall, Longkhim Town. MLA Muthingnyuba Sangtam urged all the officers posted in Longkhim to work sincerely for the uplift of the people and asked them to be at their place of posting. He assured to look after the problems faced by the departments in the days to come. Electrical, Police, Medical departments and Government High School presented their activities and problems. After the meeting, MLA Muthingnyuba visited CHC Longkhim, PWD (R&B) office, and BDO office in Longkhim Town.  

AR apprehend cadre, seize liquor

Mon/Jalukie, April 27 (MExN): Mon battalion of Assam Rifles allegedly apprehended a GPRN/NSCN cadre with “incriminating documents” during an operation conducted along with police representative on April 26 at NST area in Mon Town. The cadre has been identified as Noktat Konyak (35). According to a press release from Assam Rifles, the recoveries from the cadre included extortion notes, threat letters, and mobile phone with SIM card. The apprehended person along with the recovered items was handed over to Mon Police Station for further investigation. In another incident, Jalukie battalion of Assam Rifles also recovered assorted alcohol worth around Rs. 2 lakh at a vehicle check post established in Keyevi B on April 26. The recovered items were handed over to Jalukie Police Station, Dimapur, AR informed.
