TASU issues ultimatum

Kohima, April 30 (MExN): With no response to its earlier press statement regarding incompletion of Youth Hall construction at Tobu HQ, the Tobu Area Students’ Union (TASU) today issued an ‘ultimatum’ that it has decided to wait only till May 8 after which “the union will be compelled to impose indefinite closures of all the Governmental offices under Tobu Sub-division.” The ultimatum was addressed to the Director of Youth Resource and Sports, Nagaland. TASU in its earlier press statement published on April 18 had given ten days to the contractor and implementing agency of the Youth Hall to provide detailed information about the fund utilization at the union’s office and also 20 days to restart the construction work. “However, no information was received from either the contractor or implementing agency about the delay in completion of Youth Hall construction at Tobu HQ,” lamented the ultimatum appended by TASU general secretary, Davidson Ngushu and president, Sangti Konyak.  

T Khel night tuition centre silver jubilee

Kohima, April 30 (MExN): Tsütuonuomia Students’ Union (TSU), T Khel of Kohima Village will celebrate Silver Jubilee of its Night Tuition Centre on May 1, 5:00 pm at T. Khel indoor stadium. The union has extended invitation to all the frontal organizations of the Khel, ex-office bearers of the union, Night Tuition Centre teachers (past & present), students and their parents, well wishers and all concerned. It further informed that the jubilee theme, plans and actions of the jubilee will be jointly released by the presidents of the T Khel frontal organizations during the programme.  

NSSATA Phek extends support to central office

Phek, April 30 (MExN): The Nagaland SSA Teachers’ Association (NSSATA) Phek unit has extended “full support” to the decision of central NSSATA. In support of the three-point ultimatum served to the State government by the NSSATA, the Phek district unit in a press statement appended by President Kuku Soho and General Secretary Veshekho has asked all its members to be prepared for any action as and when called for.  

Buddha Jayanti celebrated in Dimapur

Dimapur, April 30 (MExN): The members of Dimapur Dhamma Vihar under the Society of Dhamma Bodhi & Meditation, Kevija-u village, Dimapur celebrated 2562nd Buddha Jayanti on April 29. The daylong programme included Vipassana meditation group sitting, world brotherhood flag hoisting, Panchaseel prayer & Buddha Puja, fruit distribution at Civil Hospital, Dimapur, followed by cultural programme and candle lighting. A press release from the Society further informed that monk Kabida Bhikhu from Balipathr (Assam) narrated the teachings of Buddha and benefits of Panchaseel.
