NAYO issues traffic advisory KOHIMA, DECEMBER 3 (MExN): As part of the ongoing Hornbill Festival Celebration, the Northern Angami Youth Organisation (NAYO) has organised a stone pulling ceremony to be held on December 5 from 11:00am onward. The stone pulling will proceed towards the NH-2 route from Chiechama to Chiephobozou. In this regard, all travelers taking this route on the said day have been advised to reschedule their time accordingly to avoid delays and inconveniences. BSNL staffs strike postponed to Dec 12 DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 3 (MExN): The All Union and Association of BSNL, NE-II Telecom Circle, Dimapur today informed that proposed indefinite strike which was scheduled to begin from December 3 has been postponed to December 12. A press note from the association said that this was done to facilitate discussions with the Minister of State for Communications with regard to their demands. KMC informs on shop census Kohima, December 3 (MExN): The Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) has informed all the Ward Panchayat to assist the KMC in shop census drive in their respective wards and submit to the undersigned by January 31, 2019 without fail. The initiative is in line with the Kohima Smart City project for strengthening for better service delivery and accountability through IT and to introduce full-fledged online Trade Licenses registration. The KMC has further informed that it will give 10% incentive of the total collection from their respective Ward Shop Census submitted to KMC office during the year 2019 to 2020. In a separate notice, the KMC has informed on the 8th edition of Annual "Inter-Ward Cleanliness Competition-Cum-Pre-Christmas 2018 will be held on December 15, 3:00 pm from the Kohima Municipal Council (KMC) Office premises. In this regard, all the wards have been requested to keep their respective wards clean & tidy with festivity illumination. NSCN (IM) notifies on firecrackers Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): The NSCN (IM) has issued a circular on the ban of all types of firecrackers in and around Dimapur with immediate effect. A press release from MIP stated that the decision has been taken after serious consideration of the nuisance and harmful effects of firecrackers. It has further informed that anyone found selling or transporting such items would be penalized. The NSCN (IM) also informed on the temporary lifting on the ban of shops opening in view of the festive season. RPOK condemns Kohima, December 3 (MExN): The Rengma Public Organization Kohima (RPOK) has expressed shock over the alleged threatening of R Binchilo Thong IAS Chief Secretary, Nagaland by Deputy Chief Minister Y Patton. The RPOK condemning the act has stated that it was neither acceptable nor justified. The statement Issued by Khinyi Woch, President and Keny Semp, General Secretary of RPOK demanded that “appropriate authority takes suitable action deemed fit for such behaviours as per the laws of the land to ensure not only good governance but also a healthy and conducive environment.” NTCP Peren raids shops selling tobacco Peren, December 3 (MExN): The NTCP Peren District enforcement squad raided shops within 100 yards of school premises at Jalukie Town on November 29 headed by EAC C Wangam, OC Logubu, Food safety officer and accompanied by NTCP officials Peren, Dobashis and Police personnels. Accoridng to a DPRO report, the enforcement squad visited eight Schools areas and 12 shops were penalized for violating COTPA Act 2003 section 6 a, and b. All the seized Tobacco products were burned at dumping zone in Jalukie Town. WSSU notifies on rate of commodities Dimapur, December 3 (MExN): The Western Sumi Students’ Union (WSSU) has informed that certain business establishments are charging exorbitant charges on commodities especially clothes. It has also stated that even showrooms are not maintaining the required standards. In this regard, the WSSU has requested the district administration and the Dimapur Municipal Council (DMC) to monitor the charges of commodities.
