
Dimapur CMO informs DIMAPUR, AUGUST 8 (MExN): In light of the recent Measles outbreak in Myanmar bordering Nagaland, and the influx of patients from all over the State to Dimapur District, The Dimapur Chief Medical Officer has said it is vital for all Private Health Facilities under Dimapur District to report to his office, any cases relating to measles so as to check and prevent a similar outbreak in the district. A press note from the CMO informed all private health facilities to be alert and immediately report to the CMO office of any similar measles cases. NSF welcomes veterinary college KOHIMA, AUGUST 8 (MExN): The Naga Students’ Federation (NSF), the apex student body of the Nagas, has heartily welcomed the inauguration of the College of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry, Jalukie, Peren on August 6. A release issued by the NSF president, Subenthung Kithan lauded the BJP-led NDA government, while it also heaped praise on the Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Radha Mohan Singh for inaugurating the college. The NSF also appreciated the State government for its relentless efforts in making the dream of the students into reality. The federation expressed its hope that the newly inaugurated college, which will function under Central Agriculture University, Imphal, would immensely benefit the Nagas, particularly the student community. Naga NERIST alumni mourn Kohima, August 8 (MExN): The Naga NERIST Alumni Association (NNAA) has mourned the demise of Er Temsukaba Aier. Late Temsukaba belonged to the 1987 batch (2nd Batch) of North Eastern Regional Institute of Science & Technology (NERIST), Nirjuli, Itanagar, in the mechanical engineering department, and was working under Nagaland Bee Keeping & Honey Mission as Team Member, till he breathed his last. A condolence note issued by NNAA president Er. Vizotuo Seletsu and general secretary Er. Neisievilie Lhousa said the untimely demise of late Temsukaba “had shaken and crippled the engineers’ fraternity of Nagas, particularly the Naga NERIST Alumni Association.” The Association has also conveyed its deepest condolences to the bereaved family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace. Appeal regarding National De-worming Day Dimapur, August 8 (MExN): In view of the upcoming National Deworming Day (NDD) to be observed on August 10, and National Mop up Day (MUD) on August 17, to administer albendazole tablet to all the children from 1–19 years of age in all the Anganwadi Centres and government/private schools in Dimapur district, Dr. K. Vikato Kinimi, Chief Medical Officer, Dimapur has requested all the parents and authorities concerned to co-operate for the successful implementation of the programme. DDTDWTU election notice Dimapur, August 8 (MExN): All the members of Dimapur District Truck Drivers’ Welfare Trade Union (DDTDWTU) have been informed that as per Article – VII (9) of the constitution of the union, the office of DDTDWTU has appointed an election commission for the election of new team of office bearers for the tenure 2016-2019. Following are members of the election commission: Hukavi Zhimomi - Election Commissioner, Hekiye H. and Suren (Atobo) - Asst. Election Commissioners. The election commission members in a press release informed that the election of DDTDWTU for the tenure 2016-2019 will be held on August 20 at union head office, Burma Camp, Dimapur. The election will be held in accordance with the provisions laid down in Article VI of the constitution of DDTDWTU and nomination will open from August 11 to 13 (02:00 pm – 04:00 pm). The last date for withdrawal of nomination will be August 15 (upto 04:00 pm) and the scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on August 16. Any further information and correspondence in this regard shall be addressed to the election commission, the release said. NPF Central team visits Kiphire-Pungro A/C Kiphire, August 8 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) Central team visited 60 A/C (Kiphire-Pungro) on July 27 and held a meeting with the party office bearers at the treasurer’s residence. A press release from NPF, 60 A/C (Kiphire-Pungro) informed that the Central team was led by Kiphire in-charge and General Secretary NPF, Anungba Imsong, Secretary NPF, Yankiu, and General Secretary Women Wing, Tushila Sangtam. The visiting team encouraged to rededicate and stand firm as one for strengthening the party. Anungba further asked the party workers to have a good coordination with the divisional as well as Central office. Yankiu and Tushila Sangtam also encouraged the party workers to overcome all obstacles with a vision for the forthcoming election. DDEO Zunheboto clarifies Zunheboto, August 8 (MExN): The Deputy District Education Officer (DDEO), Zunheboto has clarified that the information published on August 3, 2016 regarding issue of CEAF exam form is meant only for the Government schools. The rest of the information remains the same, stated H. Nitoli Khulu, DDEO, Zunheboto in a press release.
