NEZCC cultural programme to reach Jalukie and Medziphema

Dimapur, March 17 (MExN): As a follow up to the ongoing North East Spring festival, the North East Zone Cultural Centre will be organizing “Outreach Cultural Exchange Programme” with all the folk artistes from other Zonal Cultural Centres across the country at Jalukie on March 18, 2011 at 5.00 p.m.  The same artistes will also perform at SASRD, Medziphema on March 19, 5:00 pm.
A press note issued by Som Kamei, IPS, director, NEZCC informed that the Outreach Programme is part of the effort of the NEZCC to bring national folk artistes troupes to all far flung areas of the North Eastern States to give a wide exposure in order to promote better cultural understanding. The programmes at Medziphema and Jalukie have been arranged with the assistance of local authorities. The note also mentioned that the ongoing Spring Festival at the NEZCC Complex will showcase “Traditional Costumes Show” of the North East on March 18 at 5:30 p.m. The show is being choreographed by Imcha Imchen, a promising young designer from Nagaland, and three couples each from NE states will display costumes of 43 communities representing eight member-States.
