Maligaon, June 29 (MExN): Northeast Frontier Railway has decided to enhance the capacity of train no. 12042/12041 (New Jalpaiguri-Howrah-New Jalpaiguri) Shatabdi Express and train no. 13054/13053 (Radhikapur-Howrah-Radhikapur) Kulik Express by adding a Vistadome coach.
The Vistadome coach will be attached to train no. 12042/12041 (New Jalpaiguri-Howrah-New Jalpaiguri) Shatabdi Express on temporary basis with existing coaches from July 3 to August 31. On train no. 13054/13053 (Radhikapur-Howrah-Radhikapur) Kulik Express Vistadome coach will be attached on permanent basis with existing coaches from Howrah on July 3 and from Radhikapur on July 4.
Accordingly, train No. 12042/12041 (New Jalpaiguri-Howrah-New Jalpaiguri) Shatabdi Express will run six days a week with 15 coaches instead of present 14 coaches. The train will have two Executive Class AC chair car, 10 AC chair car and one Vistadome coach. Also, train no. 13054/13053 (Radhikapur-Howrah-Radhikapur) Kulik Express will run with 15 coaches instead of present 14 coaches. The train will have one AC chair car, 09 general chair car, two general second class and one Vistadome coach.
A press release issued by Sabyasachi De, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR stated that with the introduction of this ultra-modern Vistadome coach, passengers travelling in the New Jalpaiguri – Howrah and Radhikapur – Howrah routes will be able to experience the panoramic view of the nature through window and transparent roof.
The Vistadome coach having a seating capacity of 44 passengers per coach, provides an enhanced travelling experience to the passengers and has features that include large glass windows, glass roofs, rotating seats, and an observation lounge, so passengers can witness breath-taking glimpses, De added.
