KOHIMA, MAY 14 (MExN): A delegation from the Nagaland Football Association (NFA) called on Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio at his residential office on Wednesday to express gratitude for the state government’s support in the association’s recent achievements.

During the meeting, the NFA conveyed its appreciation following the association’s receipt of the ‘Special Award for Member Association Launching New Projects’ at the AIFF Awards 2024–25. The Association credited the Chief Minister’s unreserved support and proactive leadership for the success of numerous football development initiatives in the state, including the recently concluded Nagaland Super League 2024–25.

The NFA also briefed the Chief Minister on the proposed hosting of the AIFF’s Dr. T Ao Junior Girls National Football Tournament 2025, along with other planned activities and developmental programmes.

The Association further acknowledged the Chief Minister’s pro-sports and pro-youth vision, which it said has been instrumental in promoting football in the state. Chief Minister Rio congratulated the NFA and the Nagaland football community on the national recognition and expressed pride on the achievement.
