DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 14 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) has informed the Selected Contractor Firms for the 2 Lane Foothills Road Construction Project that those unable to attend the meeting on December 12 must collect and sign the Implementation Agreement forms on December 17. The signing will take place at the base office of the NFHRCC, located at Kher Mahal, Dimapur, and must be completed in the presence of all Divisional Executive Engineers without fail.
This directive comes following a meeting with the Minister of NPWD (R&B) at Kohima on December 14, where the urgent need to address the long-awaited project was discussed. The committee emphasized the importance of completing the Foothills Road within the stipulated time frame to ensure better connectivity for the people of Nagaland.
The NFHRCC also extended its appreciation to the State Government, particularly under the leadership of Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio, Minister of NPWD, Roads & Bridges Kaito Aye, and the concerned NPWD officials, for their dedicated efforts in securing Rs 148.5 Crores under the Special Assistance to States for Capital Investment (SASCI) program. This funding will support the first phase of the project, beginning in the 2023-24 fiscal year, marking a significant step forward in improving Nagaland’s road infrastructure.
