Dimapur, January 15 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothills Road Co-ordination Committee (NFHRCC) convened its first meeting of the year at its base office, Kher Mahal, Dimapur, on January 15. Following extensive deliberations, the committee adopted several resolutions.
The committee, in its press release, stated that it strongly reiterated its demand to the Government of Nagaland to immediately issue Work Orders for all remaining PWD Divisions. It called for this to be done through an open tender process for the second phase of the ongoing two-lane Foothills Road construction under the SASCI Loan Scheme, urging no further delay.
The NFHRCC also resolved to urge upon the NPWD, Road & Bridge department to immediately provide the required galvanized steel structure materials to the concerned contractors of the five bridges under Baghty division. This, it stated, is essential to enable the completion of the work within the current working season.
The NFHRCC resolved to acknowledge and cooperate with the initiative of the Apex Lotha Hoho. This initiative involved a combined inspection visit of all stakeholders, including Lotha CSOs, print and digital media, departmental officials, and contractor firms, to the nine work sites at Baghty Division from Merapani O Point to Doyang Bridge, Governor's Camp, and Liphanyan Village, scheduled for January 21, 2026.
The committee also expressed a belated condolence in solidarity with the bereaved families of departed tribal leaders, Shikaho Zhimomi, President of Western Sumi Hoho (WSH), and Dr Imchameran, Vice President of Ao Senso Telongjem, Dimapur (ASTD).
