NFHRCC resolves to cancel work orders for contractors failing to sign agreement

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 17 (MExN): The Nagaland Foothills Road Coordination Committee (NFHRCC) held an executive meeting on December 13, 2024, where it was resolved that some of the selected contractors who had failed to turn up for signing the Implementing Agreement with the committee despite two consecutive requests would not be allowed to execute the awarded works.

In a press release, the NFHRCC stated that unless and until the contractors sign with the committee, none of the absentee firms shall be allowed to execute the awarded works.

With the work order stipulating that execution should begin within 15 days, the committee has urged all remaining firms to sign the agreement by December 21, the final deadline. If the agreement is not signed by this date, the work orders will be canceled, it stated.

The meeting also saw several key resolutions aimed at ensuring the timely and efficient execution of the project. The committee underscored the significance of the Foothills Road as a "people’s project" and stressed that both the committee and the Department should collaborate with utmost dedication and cooperation. It was also resolved that no compromises would be allowed regarding the specifications set in the work estimates.

In addition, the committee stipulated that no payments would be released unless a No Objection Certificate (NOC) was issued by the NFHRCC after verification of the executed work. Contractors who fail to complete their assigned tasks within the prescribed time frame risk having their work orders disqualified, with no part payments or compensations to be entertained.

The meeting also resolved that departmental officials would be deployed regularly to monitor the work sites, ensuring that updates are documented in the site book. Furthermore, in case of any disputes or misunderstandings during project execution, the NFHRCC will act as an adjudicator, with its decisions being final and binding on all parties involved.
