NFI and Childline Dimapur conduct workshop on child rights

Dimapur, April 4 (MExN): One day workshop on ‘child rights - the roles and responsibilities of village level child protection committee and strengthening of state SDG goals with village leaders’ was organised at Neisatuo colony, Dimapur on April 1. 

It was organised by National Foundation for India (NFI) in collaboration with Childline Dimapur and hosted by Can Youth with Alomi, Counsellor, Childline, Dimapur and Katini Eshena, District Coordinator, NFI as the resource person, stated a press release issued by Can Youth, Program Manager, Sentiwati.

During the workshop, Alomi shortly briefed on Childline and said 1098 is a National emergency help line service for children and actively functioning 24x7 all over India. She encouraged the parents and children to reach out through this number in case of any issues. 

She mentioned that Childline was first launched in Dimapur since 2011 and has dealt with many child cases and later it has launched in 5 other districts of Nagaland and it has been functioning actively. 

She said that Childline not only deal with the cases but also organized awareness program in different location and also requested the community to share the information on 1098 in reporting the cases. Alomi encouraged the community to form a Support group in the colony inorder to identify the issues and problems faced by the child and their family and through this group they can also support child’s education.

Katini spoke on sustainable development goals important and relevant situation based. She engaged the participants in activities in identifying the problems existing in their community and what steps should be taken by the community to bring effective solutions to those problems in achieving state SDGs vision 2030.
