
DIMAPUR, MAY 31 (MExN): The National Foundation for India (NFI) in collaboration with the SDG Coordination Centre (SDGCC) of the Planning & Transformation Department, Nagaland will be organizing a two-day in-house training for young leaders on June 27 & 28 in Kohima.
A press release issued by the NFI stated that the two-day training is an effort to identify and bring together 80 dynamic young leaders from all the 16 districts of Nagaland, who will be trained on the “Role of Young Leaders in Localizing Sustainable Development Goals in Nagaland.” The objectives of the training include enhancing the understanding of young leaders on the sustainable development goals and the importance of on-ground actions at the local level.
To create a network of young leaders and equip them with skills, knowledge and tools to build partnerships and collaboration- particularly between the local government and civil society- for effective SDG implementation. To provide young leaders with the knowledge and skills necessary to assess the progress towards SDG implementation in their respective districts and to share experiences and lessons learned with others.
To build the capacity of young leaders for disseminating the SDGs and Nagaland SDG Vision 2030 in their respective communities. The training is organized by NFI under its project ‘Leave No One Behind: Building Pathways for Peace in the North-east via Engagement of CSO/Youth Leaders, co-funded by the European Union.
The call for applications for the training will close on June 5 2023, midnight. Interested candidates can apply for the training through the project’s website.
