These special trains have been operating in addition to the scheduled passenger trains connecting major destinations toward the Eastern and Northern parts of the country, including the states of West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh, and Bihar, for Diwali and Chhath Puja, it said.

The NFR has also enhanced security measures in a planned manner at all major stations and trains over its jurisdiction during the festive rush, while elaborate crowd control arrangements are made at all major and important railway stations with the potential for huge crowds, added the release from the NFR CPRO.

Senior officials of the Commercial Department are stationed at these stations to monitor all activities to regulate the crowd in a systematic manner, and the Railway Protection Force, as well as the Government Railway Police, are deployed at platforms, foot-over bridges, and circulating areas to smoothly regulate the crowd, it maintained.

Additional CCTV Control Rooms have been set up to keep a close watch on crowded areas and provide real-time assistance to passengers.  The NFR has been launching special campaigns regularly during the festive season to sensitize passengers while traveling on trains and is committed to prioritising a secure and enjoyable travel experience for all passengers during such a busy season, it added.
