NFR GM inspects development works in Katihar

Guwahati, November 23 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) General Manager, Chetan Kumar Shrivastava today conducted an inspection of the development works and railway facilities at Balurghat, Gangarampur, Eklakhi and New Jalpaiguri stations under Katihar Division.

During the same, he inspected the amenities, ongoing developmental projects and also checked safety related gears at the railway stations and interacted with the railway officials at the station and took feedback on various issues. 

As per an official NFR release, Shrivastava also conducted window trailing inspection as well as some  crucial areas such as the marshalling yards and coaching yards. 

Plans of new station building, crew lobby, Foot Over Bridge, platform and other passenger amenities works were also inspected. 
Further, the General Manager held a meeting with Satyendra Nath Ray MLA Gangarampur,and discussed various issues for overall improvement of stations and nearby areas. 

He also inspected the ongoing station redevelopment activities on the New Jalpaiguri station, currently being redeveloped in a major way as an International Train Terminal.
During his inspection, Shrivastava interacted with various representatives of media journalist and briefed them about the various developmental activities that have been carried out in the zone as per the guidelines issued by the Railway Board, the release said. 

Surendra Kumar, Divisional Railway Manager of Katihar with senior officials of headquarter and division accompanied the General Manager during the inspection.
