NFR GM inspects railway workshop at New Bongaigaon

MALIGAON, AUGUST 7 (MExN): General Manager of North East Frontier Railway (NFR), Chetan Kumar Shrivastava inspected the Railway workshop at New Bongaigaon on August 7. 

He also conducted an inspection of the development works and railway facilities at New Bongaigaon area. Divisional Railway Manager of Rangiya, Neeraj Gupta with senior officials of headquarter and division accompanied the General Manager during the inspection.

According to a press release received from Chief Public Relations Officer, Sabyasachi De, at New Bongaigaon workshop, the GM inspected the carriage repair shop, wagon repair shop, LHB component repair shop, LHB bogie shop, bearing shop, train lighting & air conditioning shop etc. He also reviewed the infrastructure upgradation works that are undergoing in the workshop for better maintenance of rolling stocks and held discussions with officials on yard remodeling for better marshalling of rolling stocks. 

Later, the GM inspected the Supervisor’s Training Centre adjacent to the workshop. There he scrutinized various training modules that are being imparted to the trainees who play a very crucial role in safe train operation.

The General Manager also inspected the crew lobby at New Bongaigaon station to check the facilities being made available to loco pilots and assistant loco pilots. 

Later, the GM held a review meeting with the workshop officials on various other developmental aspects to make the workshop future ready in line with the speedy modernization of Indian Railways. 

The GM's visit was aimed to review the progress of various developmental works, assess the facilities at different locations, interaction with officials, and discuss plans for infrastructural development, the press release stated.
