Railway officials interact with passengers at a station concourse to collect feedback during the 'Rail Jan Samvaad' drive organised by the Northeast Frontier Railway on October 22.
Maligaon, October 22 (MExN): The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) organised a Rail Jan Samvaad drive across all divisions and stations under its jurisdiction on October 22 to gather passenger feedback and identify areas for improvement in railway services.
A press release from the NFR informed that the initiative was conducted under the Ministry of Railways’ directives as part of Special Campaign 6.0, providing passengers an opportunity to share their travel experiences, raise concerns and suggest improvements. Railway officials, frontline staff and commercial supervisors interacted with passengers at station concourses and waiting halls to collect feedback on on-board comfort, station amenities and catering quality.
Led by the General Manager, Additional General Manager and Divisional Railway Managers, the campaign follows the theme “Jan Ki Awaaz, Yuva Ki Soch & Rail Ka Samadhaan”. A dedicated youth outreach initiative, “Rail Jan Yuva Samvaad”, also encourages young commuters and students to suggest ways technology could improve the passenger experience. The drive also includes safety awareness measures, with railway personnel sensitising passengers against footboard travel and trespassing on railway tracks. Passengers are also being encouraged to take responsibility for protecting public property.
The feedback collected will be digitised and reviewed to identify issues requiring immediate attention, departmental coordination or long-term planning, the release stated. The initiative aims to improve accountability and transparency in railway services and strengthen public trust.
