NFR increases freight transportation volume

Maligaon, January 25 (MExN): As part of NF Railway Business Development Unit (BDU) initiative and constant effort by Amit Singh, Sr DOM of Rangiya division, loading of coal from Dudhnoi station has resumed after a gap of 4 years. 

This will also be beneficial for local labours, traders and businessmen. 140 crates of fresh oranges were booked from Dibrugarh to various destinations like Hajipur in Bihar and Dimapur in Nagaland. This was as a result of intensive divisional BDU efforts, stated an update from Guneet Kaur, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR.

Kisan Rails with potatoes were loaded from Dhupguri and Falakata for transportation to different destinations as a result of BDU effort. Pepsi products were also loaded from Azara station and transported to Naharlagun. Stone chips and cement traffic were loaded from different stations of Lumding division and transported to various destinations. Coal, raw betel nuts, black cardamom, pippali herbs, black pepper, black tea etc. loaded from different stations of Tinsukia division were transported to various  destinations. 

NF Railway has set up BDUs to increase the freight transportation volume. These BDUs are having frequent interactions with Trade & Industry players within their respective areas to find new traffic for movement by train, it added.
