DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 1 (MExN): The NF Railway (NFR) has informed of a new time table for all passenger carrying trains over Indian Railways which will come into effect from November 1, 2017. Through a press note, it was informed that in the NF Railway portion, journey times of as many as 37 trains have been reduced ranging from 5 Mts to 65 Mts. These trains include Indore - Guwahati Express, Guwahati – Silchar Fast passenger, Sealdah – Silchar Kanchanjungha Express, Agartala – Sealdah Kanchanjungha Express, Anand Vihar – Kamakhya Express, Rajendranagar – New Jalpaiguri Capital Express, New Jalpaiguri – Chennai Express, etc. Journey time of some passenger trains between Katihar – Jogbani, Siliguri – Malda Court, Silguri – Dinhata, Agartala – Dharmanagar, New Bongaigaon – Guwahati , Guwahati – Haibargaon, Silghat Town – Guwahati, Dibrugarh – Ledo, Bhairabi – Silchar, etc have also been reduced considerably. Conventional passenger trains are also being replaced with more convenient DEMU rakes, which can accelerate and de-accelerate faster than conventional passenger trains. Accordingly, conventional passenger trains running between from Katihar to Siliguri, Jogbani, Barsoi, Telta, Teznarayanpur along with the passenger train running between Siliguri and Dhubri are being replaced by DEMU rakes. In addition to above, four presently running special trains are also going to be regularised as detailed below: 1. 05813 / 05814 New Bongaigaon – Guwahati – New Bongaigaon passenger special will be re-numbered and regularised as 55817 / 55818 w.e.f. 01.11.2017. It will run 6 (six) days a week. 2. 05865 / 05866 Rangiya – Murkongselek passenger will be re-numbered as 55895 / 55896 and regularised with an increase in frequency from Tri-weekly to 6(six) days a week w.e.f. 01.11.2017. 3. 05863 / 05864 Rangiya – Rangapara North passenger will be re-numbered as 55893 / 55894 and regularised with an increase in frequency from Tri-weekly to 6(six) days a week w.e.f. 01.11.2017. 4. 05631 / 05632 Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati Tri-weekly Special train will be regularised and re-numbered as 15611 / 15612 Guwahati – Silchar – Guwahati Tri-weekly Special train w.e.f. 01.02.2018. The speeding up of trains will result into changes of arrival / departure timings of many trains, the press note added.
