NFR initiate measures to improve customer interface

Maligaon, August 22 (MExN): NF Railway has been taking several initiatives to improve the freight transportation and provide better customer interface. Among such initiatives, few more stations have been opened for handling of both inward and outward goods traffic during the month of July, 2023 to facilitate easier transportation of various goods by customer. 

To improve customer interface and augment freight revenue, Dhamalgaon station under Tinsukia division is opened for handling of both outward and inward all goods traffic including sand and ballast traffic as well as outward coal and crane consignment except POL, livestock, explosive, inward coal and crane consignment w.e.f. 12.07.2023. Lakwa station under Tinsukia division is opened for handling of inward iron and pipes consignment for a period of three months w.e.f. 14.07.2023. Earlier, it was opened for handling of both outward and inward all goods traffic including outward coal except POL, livestock, explosive, inward coal and crane consignment w.e.f. 03.01.2023.

Alipurduar division has generated additional revenue of Rs 82.13 lakh during the month of July, 2023 due to continuous BDU efforts through stone and rice traffic, stated a press release issued by Sabyasachi De, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR.
