NFR maintains growth in freight unloading

Maligaon, June 19 (MExN): To maintain supply of essential and other commodities, NF Railway is continuously registering increase in unloading. During the month of May, 2023, 1131 freight carrying rakes were unloaded at NFR. During financial year 2022-23, 14680 freight carrying rakes were unloaded. This is an increase of 6.71% in comparison to the financial year 2021-22.

NF Railway has transported goods like FCI rice, sugar, salt, edible oil, food grains, fertilizer, cement, coal, vegetables, automobile, POL tank, container and other items during the month and unloaded them in different goods sheds within its jurisdiction. 

During May, 2023, 615 rakes of freight carrying trains were unloaded in Assam out of which 299 were loaded with essential commodities. 98 rakes in Tripura, 18 rakes in Nagaland, two rakes in Manipur, seven rakes in Arunachal Pradesh and five rakes in Mizoram were unloaded during the month. Moreover, 221 freight rakes in West Bengal and 165 freight rakes in Bihar were also unloaded during the month within the jurisdiction of NF Railway.
