Maligaon, February 16 (MExN): NF Railway has opened more railway stations for freight traffic during January, 2023 enabling easier transportation of various goods by customers. “This is expected to benefit transporters in a big way,” Sabyasachi De, Chief Public Relations Officer, NFR stated in a press release.
To improve customer interface and further augment freight transportation, Mohitnagar Goods Shed under Katihar division has been opened for handling of Container traffic for Chassis Stuffing/De-stuffing as well as Lift on - Lift off (LO-LO) operation for a period of three months only w.e.f January 2. Mirza station under Rangiya division has been opened for handling of outward coal traffic w.e.f. January 4. Haibargaon station under Lumding division has been opened for handling of inward Automobile traffic w.e.f. January 17.
Regular interaction with various stakeholders like traders, transporters and industry leaders are being held to brief them about the facilities being provided by railways and the comparative benefit of freight transport through railways.
