NFR pays tribute to Dr BR Ambedkar on death anniversary

Guwahati, December 6 (MExN): The 66th Mahaparinirwan Divas of Bharat Ratna Dr BR Ambedkar was observed December 6 at the Dr Bhupen Hazarika Sabha Griha at the Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) Headquarters complex, Maligaon. 

NFR General Manager Anshul Gupta and other senior officials paid homage by lighting the lamp and offering floral tribute to the portrait of Dr Ambedkar in the presence of  officers, staff of NFR HQ  and representatives of various associations and unions.  

Speaking on this occasion, Gupta recalled Dr Ambedkar’s contribution towards framing of the India  Constitution, providing justice & equality to all classes of the society and development of under-privileged section of the society, a press release from the NFR informed. 

Dr Ambedkar whole life is an inspiration for all classes of the society, he added.

General Secretary of All India Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes Railway Employees’ Association (NFR Zone) also spoke on the occasion wherein he emphasised the importance of Dr. B. R. Ambedkar in uplifting the Indian society, the release said. 

Dr Ambedkar was independent India's first Minister of Law and Justice, and considered as the Chief Architect of the Constitution of India.
